"Don't you fucking dare"

My body trembled; it wouldn't stop shaking. My mouth was drying up. I would take everything. I would do anything. No matter the punches. The bruising. The pain. It was worth it. It was worth to watch her run down the halls or play with her toy with a smile that isn't a forced one. To see her small face clear as day and not covered in blood. I wanted to give my life away for hers. Even if it meant that I had to walk around beat up. Even if it meant that I had to smile with no meaning behind it. A life for a life. Is what I was ready to give.

His rough hands meet my cheek for the thousand time. My body staying still. It was ready. More ready than I could have ever been. Nothing but the movement of my head was a reaction. He watched as I stood my ground. Arms out. Tough eyes. He hated the fact that I had the same will power as him. I was smaller and weaker. It was the only reason he didn't run away. It was the only reason he beat on me till I would recognize my place.

"Bubbles?"

God what a dumb name. One that made me embarrassed every time she said it. One that made my face run red as people stop to laugh at me because of it. But it was a dumb name I soon fell in love with. I never told her how much I held it close to my heart. It was her nickname she gave to me... It was as if she had never known my real name before and it was just bubble for years. Her small voice squeezed my heart. Her green eyes watched from behind me. She was too small. So small. To well unknown to see what was happening. She was playing with her dolls. Smiling and talking to them as if they were real things. I would roll my eyes at the foolishness, but I would never tell her how they were just objects. They made her smile. They made her laugh. Why would I. I knew something was up. The moment this some of a bitch walked down the halls he has never walked down before. I never cursed at him. Never in my life I would. He ran me cold. He chilled my bones and it's what kept me away. But this time. His fiery eyes weren't the only ones that burned.

"You said I would be taking the punishment" my teeth grit together. I wanted to stay calm. I didn't want to make matter worse. But as his eyes raged so did mines. Like father like daughter. My weak body. Too much for a thirteen-year-old. It was giving out. Cuts, gashes, marks. It burned my body. "Bubbles" she called out again. Her eyes never leaving the back of my body. Her weak voice... she was crying. God how many times I told her to not cry. It made me upset, and I would constantly tell her crying is for babies. But she wouldn't listen, she never would. She was stubborn and worked until it was her own way. Just like me. But she knew. She watched this enough to know what was going to be playing out.

What she didn't know. She only knew the beating part not the being sold one. Bought off to the highest bitter. It made me shiver. Selling and buying. What the fuck was wrong with people. "No" my words came out dry. They hurt my throat. "No, no, NO" my voice was loud. For once it was rough enough. She was the only thing I've ever loved.

"BUBBLES" my head snapped. Two large men grab her small arms. My mind raced. I was tired. So, tried. The part of my body that had been kicked and punched felt heavy. What was I going to do? Two grown men. Built to the brim. I was half their size. Even if I had my full strength I wouldn't even compare.

She kicked, she screamed. Her screams piercing my ears and I close my eyes. It feels like a breaking point. I felt at my breaking point. My body moves a step. My knees buckle and I fall to the ground. The sting in back finally pushes through my body. I groan on impact. Fucker kicked me.

"Bubbles please, please please" she struggles as they walk with her. Gripping on her skinny forearm. She was kicking moving trying to get away, but it was nothing. I need her. Goddess, please. My hand lays flat on the ground and I attempt to lift myself up.
