A Fight Breaks Out

I woke up the next morning and went to the Cafeteria. Waiting there were Kona, Kayden, and Hadosan. Hadosan seemed to be really invested in a book, while Kayden and Kona talked as they ate their toast. I went up to Hadosan, and when he noticed me, he closed the book. "Oh, hey. Riley was it?" he said. I nodded. "Yeah. Hey Hadosan. what're you reading about?" His face broke into the widest grin I'd ever seen, and started explaining the concept of Dungeons and Dragons to me, and how he wants to run a campaign for some of us Ultimates. I kind of tuned him out, but when Rei and Linelle entered the room, Hadosan picked his book up again and stopped talking. It seems he isn't very fond of Rei or Linelle, but i can't tell which one, I thought to myself.

I approached them. "Morning, guys!" I said, trying to make conversation. Rei smiled, and Linelle, still seeming half-asleep, yawned and said, "Good morning." I offered to get the two breakfast, and they accepted my offer. I grabbed them each a bowl of oatmeal, and when I put the bowl in front of where Linelle was sitting, her face fell into the bowl. Rei shook her awake, and when she picked her head up, there was oatmeal all over her face. I bursted out laughing at the sight of her, until she said, "What's so funny?" Then, she felt her face. She wiped some of the oatmeal off and threw it at me, and then started cracking up herself.

Things seemed to be going great, until Millie ran in, panting. "GUYS!" she said in between breaths. "IT'S REESE! HE'S IN THE GYM, LYING ON THE GROUND! I DON'T KNOW IF HE'S DEAD OR WHAT, BUT COME QUICK!" And with that, peace ended. Everything fell into chaos. We all ran to the gym, and saw Reese's battered body lying on the ground. Kayden was the first to run up to him. He checked his pulse. "He's alive!" he exclaimed. "Somebody, grab his key and take him to his room!" I yelled! Just then, the one who wouldn't tell us his name walked in. "Tch. Don't worry about him. He just got into a little brawl with me. Couldn't hold his own, and got his ass handed to him."

I couldn't believe what this guy was saying. "You fought Reese?" I asked him in shock. He snickered. "Yeah. He's lucky if he'll be able to walk by the end of the week." He started to walk away, but then he turned back around. "By the way, if you get in my way, the same thing'll happen to you." And on that note, he walked off, leaving the rest of us to think about the guy. Georgie pulled me to the side. "He wasn't always like this," she told me. I was confused. "You know that guy?" she nodded. "Yeah. He was my best friend up until we got accepted into Hope's Peak..." I was stunned. How could somebody like Georgie hang out with a thug like him? "His name is Cole, and he's the Ultimate Fighter. He's exceptionally talented when it comes to weapons, but his fists work fine as well. He used to be a part of a gang, until the leader, Mondo Owada, mysteriously disappeared. I heard he got accepted into Hope's Peak, and was never seen or heard from again." I thanked Georgie for the info, and ran off after Cole. I didn't know it at the time, but that'd be the worst mistake of my life.
