As the elevator continued to carry us down, I grew more and more nervous. Why would anybody kill Kona? Who killed Kona? How was Kona killed? Those questions and more were going through my brain, and when the doors to the elevator finally opened, we were all shocked by what we saw. There was a large parliamentary style courtroom. There were 16 podiums, and behind one, was a picture of Kona, with an X drawn over it in what looked like blood. We all stood behind a podium. When Monokuma arrived, he sat on a large chair in the back of the room. "This class trial is now in session!"
Rei started asking the questions, like "Where were you at this time, Daz?" "What was the murder weapon?" "Who was where?", until Cole yelled, "SHUT UP ALREADY!" I tried to be the mediator. "Calm down, you two. Alright. First things first. I have an alibi for some of us, those being me, Cole, Rei, Linelle, Hadosan, Alex, Reese, Millie, and Georgie. Another thing I noticed was that Kona had a note in his pocket, telling him to meet somebody in the cafeteria." Rei nodded. "I noticed that, too. He seemed to have been killed by a slit throat, the wound being .5 mm wide." As I was about to say something, however, Ky, the Ultimate Farmer spoke up.
"Actually, I found some evidence," she said. Cole looked agitated. "Well? Spill it!" As she began to speak, I realized what she was going to say. "There was a loose floorboard in the cafeteria, and when i investigated further, I found a bloodied dagger in a secret compartment. As I investigated the armory, there was a dagger missing." Before she could say anything else, Cole interjected. "Hold up. How the hell did you know there was a dagger missing?" Ky snickered. "Why, it's so simple, even a baby could understand it! There was a supply list. I counted each individual item in there during the investigation, and found that the supply list had one more dagger that I couldn't find. I scoured the whole armory, with no luck." Cole looked like he wanted to say something, but decided not to.
"HOLD IT!" Hadosan yelled. "That isn't possible! I saw you walking in the direction of the cafeteria while everyone was running to help Reese!" Ky began to sweat. "I don't know what you're talking abo-" "STOP LYING, GODDAMMIT! JUST FESS UP ALREADY! I KNOW IT WAS YOU!" Hadosan was going off on her, countering her every statement. After a few minutes of back and forth, though, she finally confessed to it. "FINE! YOU WANT THE TRUTH? I'LL GIVE YOU THE TRUTH! I KILLED KONA! AND I DON'T REGRET IT AT ALL!" I was stunned at what she was saying. How could it have been her? Then I realized something. "If you killed Kona... then who else was in the cafeteria at the time?" I asked. Ky stopped. "NOBODY ELSE WAS IN THERE, DUMBASS! IT WAS JUST ME AND KONA!" I started to laugh. "That's wrong, actually. You see, Ky, there was actually one other person in the cafeteria after we went to check on Reese, aside from you and Kona. That person was..." I thought for a second, but then realized. "...Kayden... was it you?"
Kayden looked shocked. "M-ME?" he yelled, stuttering. Rei nodded. "I noticed it too, Riley. He didn't come to the gym with us when Millie ran into the the cafeteria, and he wasn't anywhere to be found during the investigation. I didn't see him again until we all got into the elevator." "B-BUT WHY WOULD I KILL KONA?!? WE WERE LIKE BROTHERS!!!" I shrugged. "I don't know what your motive was, and you seemed to be awfully close. All I know, is that you're the only one who who could've killed Kona. Kayden broke down into tears. "Fine... I admit it... It was me... All I wanted... Was to get out of here... And see my girlfriend again..." Monokuma interrupted him before he could say anything else. "Alrighty! Time to cast your votes for who you think is the murderer!"
Everybody cast their votes, and when they were tallied up, the one who received the most votes was Kayden. He began to bawl even harder. Georgie went up to him. "Kayden... I've known you for years, and you were one of my best friends. But-" She slapped him. "Things have changed. You're a murderer now, and as much as I want to, I can't forgive you." Kayden wiped away his tears and smiled. "It's fine. really it is. Monokuma?" The robotic bear's ear perked up. "Do it." And with that, Monokuma slammed a mallet on a red button. A pixelated Kayden appeared on the screen below the button. Text displayed on screen. "Kayden has been voted guilty. Time for his Punishment!" A pixel Monokuma walks on screen and grabs Kayden by the neck, dragging him off the screen. A door opened, and a chain shot out of the darkness behind it. The chain had a collar attached to it, and it clamped around Kayden's neck, dragging him out of the room, and into the darkness.
