In the Book of Enoch, he was the chief of the rebellious angels and a Fallen Angel cast from Heaven. In Hedrew, he is a demon of wilderness. In Muslim, he is the devil who was cast from Heaven for refusing toacknowledge Adam, the first human. He was given credit for teaching humans how to forge weapons and make war on each other, and to deceive one another by using cosmetics.
