'What doesnt kill you gives you a lot of unhealthy coping mechanisms and a really dark sense of humor.'-Fuckology

Today was the funeral of King Caspian and Queen Imogen. It has been three days since the incident and her parent's killers have not yet been identified. Just two days prior, the council voted that she become the temporary Queen of Werewolves.

Her status would become permanent once she fought off her challengers and won over the next few days that followed her parents' funeral.

She knew who her five challengers were to be: The Alpha of North America; Alpha Sebastian, The Alpha of South America; Alpha Carter, The Alpha of Asia; Alpha Asher, The Alpha of Africa; Alpha Eli and the European Alpha; Alpha Hunter.

She knew they were all powerful opponents, but she was sure could beat them all, she was not about to give up her birthright for some man...any man. They thought she didn't know what they thought of her, how much they believed that a queen was not fit to run a country alone.

Or how much they believed that a queen without a king was powerless, but she would show them, that she shouldn't have to prove to them why she was meant to be queen.

If she was a man, they wouldn't dare question her rule. As she slipped on her black dress lined with red rubies, and a matching black veil. She wanted blood. Her dress plummeted to the floor and she knew the procession was about to start, but it wasn't as if they could start without her.

Her eyes flashed red indicating that Esme was right below the surface. It was a hairpin trigger with this wolf. She was usually so calm and docile, but now that she had been forced to witness what was done to our parents; she became feral and angry.

She wanted control, but Aspen knew what she would do if she relinquished control over her. Esme would wreak havoc on the entire kingdom. She would kill everyone and it made no sense to have her do that. She would be a queen without a kingdom to rule.

'Let me have a little taste Aspen, a little blood on our hands and little in our mouth never hurt anyone, you know you want to.'

Esme teased as Aspen found herself counting to a hundred trying to calm the storm inside her.

'Let's comprise Esme, let's get through today's funeral, tomorrow I'm sure that Alphas from all over the world will come to challenge me, I'll let you take the reins then. I'll let you fight, injure and maybe even kill. Just imagine the taste of their blood on your lips. Just let me have today to mourn please.'

Aspen said to Esme as she thought about it.

'Fine, but I will have blood.'

Esme said as she retreated inside Aspen. A deal is a deal and the promise of blood to come did satisfy her lust. Aspen focused on the two caskets in front of her. One white with gold trimming housed her mother. The other which had her father was black with gold trimmings. The pastor when on about their virtues, she didn't need anyone to tell her about her parents' virtues, they raised her so she was well aware of them.

"Alpha Queen Aspen, would you like to say a few words?"

The pastor asked her as she rose from her seat and made her way to the pulpit.

"I have many words to say, but I doubt we have the time for all present to hear them. I only want to leave with these words. To person or persons responsible, I will find you and I will have my retribution."

Alpha Queen Aspen said as all present shuddered at the sound of venom in her voice. Added to the fact that she was now the rightful queen as her coronation ceremony had been just a few days before...

Princess Aspen stood in her room. She donned the most exquisite dress she has ever seen in her life. Usually, the coronation ceremony would take place after the funeral and challenges, but due to the nature of the death of her parents, as well as to ensure the political stability of the werewolf nation, Princess Aspen as well as the elders of the werewolf pack thought it would prudent to restore the hierarchy as soon as it was possible, by appointing Aspen as Queen of the werewolves.

A title Aspen knew she would one day hold, but she never guessed that it would be this soon. She wasn't ready, but her wolf sure was. Esme was itching for the challenge. She could practically taste the anticipation on her tongue. She knew that they would be here by tonight.

If anyone of them think that they could assassinate her before the challenges they had another thing coming. She was skilled in all manner of weapons: fiber wire, 1911 suppresses handgun, Akbar fighting knives, hand-to-hand combat, poisons inclusive of nuclear and other biochemical weapons, and her personal favorite her katana.

She liked this sword because it was lightweight yet sharp enough to cut through rock. She was sure she would have use for them someday.

'What's the use of all these things when you have me?'

Esme asked as Aspen responded

'What if they used silver, you know that's your kryptonite; what then?'

Aspen asked her as she huffed and reclined in the subconscious of her mind.

'Hey don't be like that.'

Aspen said but Esme was already too far gone. That wolf would give anyone whiplash with her personality. Soon, she heard them ask for her to join them at the gravesite. She watched as they lower her parents to the ground.

"...For dust we are, and to dust, we shall return, until we are embraced by the arms of the moon goddess."

Alpha Queen Aspen watched as they lowered her parents to the ground. She would have vengeance. As she walked from the grave site over to the palace. Her father's Beta Kai came up to her with a total of five letters, each a challenger from each continent.

"I am Alpha Aspen, Queen of wolves, they think they can claim what is rightful mine, let them come, their blood will pay tribute."
