Lance rounded the corner, cautiously making his way to the security office. Was Spring Trap there?
He tightened his grip on the butcher knife, jumping at every noise. He looked behind him to ensure none of his friends had followed him.
"Greetings." A loud, robotic voice boomed.
Lance jumped and spun to face the damaged animatronic who glared at him, a murderous glint in its eye.
"W-who are you." Lance held his ground, holding the knife up, prepared to defend himself.
"I'm Vincent." The robot's voice echoed and bounced off the walls of the building. "You shouldn't have returned."
"Says who?" Lance attempted to sound brave.
"Me." The robot took a step forward, the light reflecting off of the metal that shown through his suit. "Let me through and maybe I won't kill you." Spring Trap murmured smoothly.
Lance then thought of his brother, Ash and his father. He thought of his friends that sat out in the dining area, sad and afraid. He then grew more determined as he stared into the animatronics's amber eyes.
"Over my dead body.""Where the hell is Lance?" Ash paced the room while Sabrina attempted to console Katie who was shaking violently.
"He'll be back." Sabrina assured him, her eyes following his every move.
"You kids shouldn't have been here." His father, who sat on a chair had his head in His hands.
"Are you not even worried about your son?" Ash spat.
His sudden outburst made his father jumped, he looked surprised that ash had spoken to him in such a bold manner. Ash glared at his father, his eyes not leaving his.
"Of course I'm worried." He responded blankly.
"Bullshit." Now even Sabrina and Katie were paying attention, mouths gaping open. They were all used to the respectful and courteous Ash, but he was furious. "You could have followed him! What if he's in trouble!" Ash's voice shook with anger at is father, and anger with himself.
"You shouldn't have even been here!" His father hissed, failing to control his temper.
"Don't you pin this on me!" Ash cried. Although, now he felt it was his fault. He could have followed Lance. He could have talked him out of coming here.
"Lance wanted to investigate the fire." Sabrina added, defending Ash."
He nodded to her, grateful and she smiled in return.
His father did not answer, much to his suspicion. "Is there something you want to tell me, dad?" Ash stalked forward.
"I didn't think it was a big deal, Ash. Those murders. They happened so long ago." His father tried to explain.
"What?" Now Ash's anger was exploding. He felt betrayed by his own father. "You knew and you still went ahead with the opening!?"
"It happened a long time ago!" His father stuck to his story and snarled in return.
"I can't believe you. This place was burned for a reason!" Ash hollered, no longer scared of anyone hearing him.
"I'm sorry.." His father answered, simply.
Then they heard it.
A blood curdling scream cut short.
