Hope is the Thing with Feathers

I chose this single star - from out the wild nights number - sue - forevermore!

Two days went by, and we didn't talk since but the fact that she called it cute made me think a lot. It's so weird that she talks and acts just like her and the way she speaks.

I was in bed for most of the day, I just couldn't look at Hannah without thinking of Sue. It hurt too much and I could take it. There was a knock on the door "who is it?" I asked "the old Hawkeye" of course it was Clint, I laughed while I said "come on in then oldie" he smiled "hey I'm not that old" I look at his hands and saw a plate of breakfast "since you didn't come down for breakfast, I thought I would come up with something for you" "awwwh thank you oldie"

He sad on the end of the bed and took a deep breath "what's up?" I said worried "remember what I told you about Hannah in the car?" "Yeah?" I said with a questionable look "well the thing is I didn't tell you the truth, Hannah has been friends with Laura since we got Lila." "But you said you guys adopted her when she was 5? Why did you said that?" "I don't know Kate. Some things just needs to be private." I got a little annoyed by that answer to be honest

"but I thought we were partners? Or I mean I get that you have a personal life, but why did you lie?" He looked sad about it when I said that but I wanted to know what he was hiding "I don't even know myself Kate. It's private between Laura and Hannah, I know nothing. I don't know what came to my head when I told you what I did in the car. I'm really sorry"

I could see that he meant it so I went across the bed and gave him a small hug "it's okay, I'm sorry for the way I talked at you" he gave me a little squeeze on my arm "don't be sorry Kate" we broke the hug and both sad smiled at each other, he went over the to the door but turned around "you wanna come down or?" I looked around the room, thinking for a second. I still didn't wanna look at Hannah.. "I will come down for dinner, I have a bit of a headache" he smiled and said "okay then, see you later kid" and closed the door

After some time walking around the room thinking and thinking. I just sad on the floor with a book that I found, it was a love story about two friends and got separated and found each other again. Ironic right? There then was a knock on the door and it opened slowly, it was little Nathaniel

"uncle Kate?" I was shocked at what I think I heard "I hope you don't mind me calling you that" he is the cutest thing ever "not at all little nat" I said smiling "come on in, what's up?" He came over to me and sat beside me "I thought you went home but then Hannah said you were in your room" "she did?"

"Yeah. I also asked dad what I should call you and he said that I could choose and call you it, If you were comfortable with it" damn it I really don't wanna have kids but he makes me wanting one "I'm comfortable with being your uncle Kate" I pushed him lightly with my arm, that made him giggle

I went down the stairs for dinner, and saw that they all were at the table ready to eat. "Oh Kate dear, come down and eat" Laura said "coming right down" I said smiling cause I was really hungry.

After we eat, Nathaniel wanted to watch a movie but only me and Hannah wanted to. We were watching a movie Disney movie, I was kinda nervous because Hannah was siting next to me and was close. Nathaniel was on my lap with his head, almost asleep. When I noticed, Hannah looked too and we both giggled. "It's like a dream come true" she said, I didn't understand what she meant by that, but I didn't ask about it.

30 minutes later into the movie, Hannah laid her head on my shoulder "hope you don't mind" was she drunk? "Oh no no it's okay" I could feel my heart almost getting out from my chest from all the fast beating it was doing.

When the movie was over I saw that both Hannah and nat was asleep. I couldn't move because then I would wake them  up, so I sat there for a moment and thought maybe I should just go to sleep too. So I did.
