After a week or so later, it was Wednesday around 7 something in the morning and as usual, Geez was having a hard time getting his niece to start getting ready school.
"Come on na' lay, i ain't gon keep doing this witchu every morning. Get up." Geez spoke firmly.
"Can't I just stay with you today?" She whined.
"No baby girl you can't." He sighed and she huffed, crossing her arms. "But why?" She mumbled finally turning towards him.
"We do this almost every morning lay you already know you can't, come on baby get up."
"But why!?" She screeched, standing up on the bed now and stomping her foot.
"Cause I said so, now get up and get in that bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth Leilani. Now." Geez replied firmly in a no nonsense tone.
Laylay pouted up at him, her eyes watering and her uncle immediately felt bad for raising his voice.
"Lay-"
She got up from the bed and went bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
"Shit." Geez muttered, and ran a hand over his face.
God give me the strength
Geez felt eyes boring a hole into the side of his head and turned to the photo of his brother and looked away immediately.
That same feeling coming back with those same memories he'd wanted to stay buried.
"I know, I know Sin. I.. I'm trying my best." He spoke softly.
There was no response.
"Now I'm talking to a fucking picture.. Fuck is wrong with me?" Geez sighed and went over to the bathroom door, trying to open it but it was locked.
"Lay, come on ma Open this door fa' me" Geez called out, knocking on the door.
"Nooo G-Go away uncle G." She sniffled.
"I'm sorry for yelling princess I ain't mean to make you cry." He spoke, his tone much softer now.
She didn't reply, all you could hear was the water running in the distance.
"Lay?" He called out.
"Why don't you love me anymore?" She asked and it broke his heart when she asked him that.
