19. Shock

Lan Wangji kept waiting for Wei Wuxian in class the next day. Where was he? It's almost time and neither him nor Jiang Cheng made an appearance. "Se-Second Young Master Lan?" Lan Wangji heard a nervous voice behind him, making him turn around. He saw Nie Huaisang sitting behind him. "Young Master Nie." Lan Wangji said simply, bowing slightly.

"Second Young Master Lan, do you know where Wei-xiong and Jiang-xiong are?" Nie Huaisang asked. Lan Wangji didn't respond and simply shook his head. Nie Huaisang looked like he wanted to say something but stopped when Lan Qiren marched into the class with great authority.

"Where is Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng?" Lan Qiren asked and sighed. "I bet those two trouble makers are causing some mischief right now." Lan Wangji couldn't believe his ears. How could his uncle say something like that. He clearly knew that Wei Wuxian got injured badly. Can't he understand that this might be related to his injury? Although he understood why his uncle didn't like Wei Wuxian, he can't be biased against someone like that without any reason. Lan Qiren started his class without waiting for the disciples of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect.

Classes were over early, but Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng still didn't appear. Now, Lan Wangji was getting very worried. 'Where is Wei Ying? Is he alright? Is his head hurting again? The doctor clearly told him to rest, but he was the one who left.' Lan Wangji couldn't stop his raging thoughts anymore. "Fine. If this how they want it. We can go directly to their room and punish them there itself." Lan Qiren said as he made his way to Wei Wuxian's and Jiang Chang's room along with Lan Wangji.

Once they reached their room, Lan Wangji gently knocked the door and waited. But there was no response. Lan Qiren's patience was running thin. "Wei Wuxian! Jiang Wanyin! Just get out already!" Lan Qiren shouted as he barged inside without any warning to punish the two boys for skipping classes. However, the scene in front of him shocked both Lan Qiren and Lan Wangji speechless.

A naked Jiang Cheng was sleeping on top of a naked and tied up Wei Wuxian while touching him intimately. Wei Wuxian looked exhausted and was crying silently, begging for help. Lan Qiren instantly saw red. "JIANG WANYIN!" He shouted, making Wei Wuxian shiver and startle Jiang Cheng awake.

Lan Wangji couldn't take it anymore. He tore Jiang Cheng away from Wei Wuxian and started untying the cloth around his hands. He picked up Wei Wuxian's clothes which were discarded on the ground only to realize that they were torn. Hence, he wrapped Wei Wuxian in the bedsheets, making it look like he was in a cocoon. "Wangji, get Wei Wuxian dressed and take him to the infirmary." Lan Qiren ordered, trying to keep his voice calm. Lan Wangji nodded, picked up Wei Wuxian and walked out of the room.

Wei Wuxian was still unconscious, murmuring things under his breath as tears kept spilling out of his eyes like a never ending waterfall. It broke Lan Wangji's heart to see Wei Wuxian like this. He wanted his misery to end as soon as possible. How could someone even think of something that audacious? Couldn't Jiang Cheng see Wei Wuxian was clearly broken? He was burning with anger and jealousy. To hell with Wei Wuxian being engaged! Lan Wangji swore to never leave Wei Wuxian. He is going to protect him from Jiang Cheng. 

Lan Wangji took Wei Wuxian to the Jingshi, gently dressed him up with his own clothes, while being careful not to hurt Wei Wuxian anymore than he already is and took him to the infirmary yet again. "Second Young Master Lan! What happened to this Young Master again?" The doctor asked as Lan Wangji gently laid Wei Wuxian on a bed. "Raped." Lan Wangji said, trying to keep cool. The doctor was shocked to the core. How could something like rape even happen in The Cloud Recess?

Without pushing for any further details, the doctor started treating Wei Wuxian's injuries, for which Lan Wangji was grateful for. After treating them, he gave Wei Wuxian a medicine by forcing it down his closed mouth. "He will be alright Second Young Master Lan. He will wake up in half an hour or so." The doctor said and bowed before taking his leave. Lan Wangji thanked the doctor and stared at the handsome, yet broken person in front of him and waited for him to wake up.
