part two : Hey hey, Handsome
note- please look out for the time variations in the story. there isn't any divider used.Noisy as always. That was his first thought. Walking down the hallway, murmurs ruptured through, this time for him. He had gotten used to it over the years. Fame clearly did it's bit. It was a funny business — it makes one show their true self or rather veil the same. Depends how popularity grows on the person.
Nothing much changed. The interiors were the same as before. One thing he did notice was students around here seemed, kind of, open. So, were preferences now valid in this school?
Perhaps.
"Isn't that Tae bear?"
"Shush, those guys will hear you." One of the two girls in the corner whispered. Oh, she was right. They did hear it.
"Say Taehyung, quite the hot topic you used to be I suppose." The said boy looked over his shoulder to meet his friend smirking so close next his ears. It was pestering for sure but he was accustomed to his antics.
With a brazen face, he maintained his composed gait towards the classroom. "Oh come on, Tae. You cannot ingore me like this. Hoseok say something bro."
The white haired male shrugged, aware that it was only natural for them to act that way. "Jimin, why do you even bother?"
The short male groaned taking jumpy steps and presenting himself next to Taehyung. "Guess you really are excited to meet your little boyfriend. Oops . . . ex boyfriend." A sense of accomplishment washed over him when Taehyung stopped in his steps.
He lightly pushed Jimin against a wall, standing unbothered by the limited space between them. "Baby doll, you better learn when to shut up." He seethed backing off a little. "It really pisses me off, you know that."
"Geez, fine." Jimin sassily brushed his uniform as though having dirt settled on it.
The three of them made their way into a classroom. Hushed whispers followed right after, though a unique item caught the short male's eyes. "He's one heck of a character, huh?" Pointing at the guy donning a pink top, chatting away with the girls.
"Hm, got to be one when you know him." Taehyung scoffed, heading to the back seats while the two boys mindlessly toddled behind him.
As soon as the homeroom teacher made his entry, Taehyung had already predicted his words, "Jungkook, your uniform." So, it wasn't much of a surprise to hear that name after three years but Jimin's bulged eyes gawking at him urged him to let out a hushed dry chuckle.
"An interesting character now, isn't he?" He commented to his side.
Jimin realised he was gaping and immediately shut his mouth, listening to what this apparent "interesting guy" had to say. "Sir, I had my trousers up for cleaning the night before but you see . . . it shrunk and, and the rule clearly says no tight fits. Right?" Oh, the sweetened voice made him want to scrunch his nose. Super cringy.
"Anyways . . ." the teacher cheered, "we have a few students joining in. Occupying the last desks, I see. They have a band too, so I hope you all will get along well."
Taehyung seemed satisfied with the short introduction. He would not have wanted to stand in front of the other students and introduce himself, like once he had done in kindergarten. So embarrassing, really.
"Let's see who all have completed the assignments given yesterday. Jaebum please read out."
Having a little peace to himself, Taehyung wandered his eyes everywhere gradually landing on the odd one out. He looks well, Taehyung believed that. It was an observation. He didn't care about him anymore, that, he was sure of.
Jungkook changed and it was visible. Taehyung changed and it was visible too. What mattered in the end was who did it for the betterment of themselves. One of them surely had failed tremendously.
Shrill of a long bell triggered slamming of books and the chatters rose up again. "Thank you, class. We'll pick up from where we left."
"Aye, Tae wanna check out the music room?" The short male poked him from the side. "Students say the teacher's absent and there's no invigilator, so it's a . . . free . . . period, apparently? Wha— How does this work again?"
Hoseok, behind him chuckled. He was using his brain too much to confuse himself furthermore. "How dumb are you, baby doll?" Taehyung teased, "Take up ahead you two, I'll catch up soon." He shooed both of them away.
Heaving a sigh, he checked his phone. It was only nine and he felt the tiredness kicking in. "Um, excuse me . . . " he raised his head to where the voice came from. "Are you, you're, uh Kim Taehyung right?"
The feeble voice of this girl — it wasn't something he was used to, made him scoff instantly. "Yes?" he merely answered like a bot.
In a matter of time there were a number of girls swarming around. Questioning about, complimenting him; mostly with high hopes to plunge on an open scope of hitting on a good looking dude.
"You've really . . . changed."
"I didn't recognise you the first instance. You look good."
His urge to draw a spectral line around him heightened abnormally. Stronger and stronger until a voice, oh so merrily, popped out of nowhere.
"Heave ho boo."
Right, he was the one missing missing. "Hey hey, Hand . . . some," it trailed before it faded into the abyss.
Now that, was amusing to have Taehyung smiling with so much disdain. "Hi. Jungkook."
