part 9 : Carrot Cake And Strawberry Smoothie
No one could explain it. The happiness, the satiatity; every positive word fell short. They weren't worthy of describing what Jungkook felt at that moment.
Carrot cake and a strawberry smoothie lied on his desk.
The nostalgic feeling surged within him. It's taste, enriched with something familiar. Made him happy. Are we friends again? — was what Jungkook wanted to ask.
He was bummed when his Calculus teacher beckoned him earlier, right after the music lesson. Like his breakfast, he missed his lunch (he was rather quite glad that he did).
He skipped towards the music room, climbing up the stairs. Jumping in each step he took that he almost fell on colliding with somebody.
"Oh- 'M sorry!"
A blush coated his cheeks when he did notice the one he bumped into holding onto him. White hair, pale face. Hoseok, was it?
He jumped straight up hitting the other with his head. "Ow. Oh my- I'm so sorry! Hey, you okay? I'm so sorry, I really am." Jungkook inspected the boy holding his chin in pain.
"Geez— take a chill pill, will ya?" Hoseok held him down. "I'm fine." He walked past him mumbling to himself, leaving the boy to pout.
"Uhh, I'm such a klutz." He whined, meekly walking to the long benches on the other side of the music hall. His eyes caught a glimpse of Rosa waving at him, saving his regular place by the window.
"Yo guys, may I have your attention please?" Taehyung announced and man did he have all of Jungkook's. "So as you all know I'll be your conductor for the programme and I'm hoping everyone will contribute equally? For starters . . . I'll be allotting you your roles, so please be cooperative."
The boy was rudely interrupted by a soft yet annoyed scoff from the back of the room. "Who are you, Tae bear? Let the allotments be upto Mr Han. Who knows you'll be favouring the boys and hold us back cause you can't handle your gay ass?" Rosa smugged, successfully filling the ears. "And to be fair that will badly affect our performance. Am I right or what guys?"
Taehyung, on the other hand, was seen rather amused, "I was asked to. Rosa. I don't do fancy for power, let me make that clear and if you can't bear it . . . with all due respect, the door's wide open." His eyes shifted from Rosa and then to Jungkook. No emotions whatsoever.
"You—"
"Rosa, don't be so bitter. Please . . . " Jungkook lowered his head, lifting his head only for a brief glance at the girl by his side. "Taehyung— you should continue." He forced a smile.
Sighing aloud, the acting conductor apologized.
"Alright then. As it had been decided— Climb Ev'ry Mountain . . . which isn't quite known among us, as I judged from yesterday's practice, so I proposed for a change and well, congrats . . . we get to do Bohemian Rhapsody."
The class cheered simultaneously, putting up a smile on Taehyung's face. Queen ruled their hearts afterall.
"So let's assign the parts . . . Hm, Lee Sooyoung. I'd like you on the contraltos please." The said girl nodded and clasped Jungkook's hand in excitement, which the boy mirrored. "As for the harmony . . . it's a tough choice but I'd like Park Jimin?" The short boy beamed, nodding in enthusiasm, "and Jung Rosa working on it—"
A dry chuckle reverberated the room and Rosa perched up on her feet. "Excuse me? I, do not harmonize. I'm not a back up for anyone, okay?"
Unlike the reaction anticipated, Taehyung kept his cool. "Alright. I'll be dismissing you from the a cappella then, and you can very well withdraw your name from the camp as well. It's no big deal." Sooyoung, Lia, Ara and Jungkook; all of them were on their feet as well to cover the grave she dig for herself.
"You, Tae bear, do you know who my father is?"
Tilting his head slightly, "I don't know. Weren't you told?" he said. Oh! He knew. He knew very well the daughter of the school's principal and the infamous, once slandered story writer and actress in the industry.
"You're done for Kim. I promise you, I'll—"
"She'll do it Taehyung. I'll make sure she perfects the harmony." Sooyoung settled and tried to calm the situation at best.
"Sit. Down. Rosa. We need this camp certificate!" She whispered to her and the remaining of Pink Quad agreed with her. "To enter the competition, hm? Do this for me?" Rosa nodded, bitterly.
"So . . . that settles it. Ku Rosa and Park Jimin will back up Jeon Jungkook's lead." Taehyung grinned, darting the clipboard under his arms. "Let's get going fellas. The rest will occupy the choir stand— oh, and Kim Ara you should accompany Lee Sooyoung too. Thank you!"
First and foremost, a cut throat glare contest broke out between Jimin and Rosa. Jungkook supposedly stood there as the only civil being witnessing it. He dared to utter some words awkwardly.
"Um guys, can we start?"
🎸
"Kim Taehyung, you fucker!" Hoseok sighed when Jimin started chasing after Taehyung. Can he expect a peaceful dismissal from school for once? Apparently not until he is with the two kids trapped in adults' body. "You intentionally put me together with that bitch, didn't you?"Hoseok shook his head dismissively, he saw that coming anyways. Walking with a certain spring in his feet, he watched the two running around. At least he was happy. "And why does Hoseok get to follow up with his crush? What was her name . . . Lia Wong! What the actual fuck, Tae?"
That certainly alarmed him.
"Park Jimin! Shut the fuck up!" Hoseok ran too till he caught up with the short boy, giving him a piece of his mind. "Don't go around yelling bull shit, okay?"
"Hobi . . . " The boy mewled before raging in a fit of anger hearing Taehyung laugh helplessly at the two. "It's all your fault, you douche!"
The white haired male stared at the boys rolling on the ground and Taehyung lifting Jimin on his back. "Oh come on, babydoll. I know how much you love music and I promise you'll love harmonizing when it's Jungkook's voice, hm? I know you will."
"Spoken like a true whipped boyfriend." Hoseok chuckled at the two in their own chirpy bubble. They always seemed like, something so warm and nice.
"Bunch of gays," the boy heard from his side. "Hoseok, right?" He nodded, scanning the pink jacket. "Why do you even hang out with those gays?"
"Friends, Rosa, they're my friends."
"What friends? He didn't even give a big role and let you take care of the bass? That's child play. Which friend does that?"
"Alas." Hoseok heaved sigh. "Taehyung is a music genius, Rosa and I've heard of you from him, good and bad. For the sake of that good, just be a little mature."
By this time, he knew he was talking to a brick wall but at least he tried. "Anyways instead of getting into all these stuff rather check on who your father is, you know look it up for general knowledge?"
Passing a sarcastic smile, he jogged to where his friends were. He surely didn't want to be left behind with some no brain driving him crazy.
