As the evening approaches, you pad out of his room to find him sitting on the couch.

"Hello darling," Otto breathes out, his arms tell him you're there before he even turns around. "Come, sit down with me for a moment."

Otto smiles to himself, ah, it's good to hear you chattering again my confidants.

You walk over to join him, taking a seat next to him. He picks up your legs and places them over his lap, massaging as he begins to speak again.

"The police men came by today to take my statement, and they'd like yours and your uncle's as well."

"Oh, okay." You say, feeling terrified of what's to come.

"Don't worry darling, they have more than enough proof to convict x/n."

You wince at the mention of your abuser, suddenly feeling overwhelmed with the situation.

Otto begins to explain everything he told the cops, including his small lies. He watches as your facial expressions seem to change with each detail of his story.

"So wait, you lied about us?" you ask, almost shocked. But he seems happy about it.

"Only in minor detail, but it's the same story about us that I told your uncle. He will vouch for our credibility." Otto returns, answering your question.

"But Otto, you're lying to the cops. What if they find out? This just feels wrong!" You say, clearly upset about the topic at hand.

"They won't, its the three of our testimonies against x/n. Y/n, you're safe now. You won't have to be scared anymore. As long as we all stick to the same story, and your uncle will, we'll all be safe. And more importantly, you will be out of harms way." Otto defends.

"Okay, I guess I understand that. I'm just worried about us," you start, "what if you go to jail, Otto, that's 20 years, easy!"

"That's why keeping the story is important, my love. It's just a minor lie that necessary to preserve our relationship with one another. I know that it's wrong, and I'm not the happiest about it given my background."

"Otto, I -"

"Y/N, it's okay, it's in the past for me, but for others it is not yet. That is apparent with this whole situation. But I simply cannot lose you. Finding you lying out there on the pavement, crying out for me, I just.... I didn't want it to happen again." Otto admits, and you know he's referring to Rosie.

"Otto, I'm so sorry." You say, tears streaming down your face after his confession.

"Y/N, darling, don't apologize for the things that you went through. Listen, our relationship is not important in terms of getting x/n behind bars. Everything will fade away in time. But please, please call and give the cops your statement. Help me help you."

"Okay, babe, I'll stick to the story. I swear it. But please, can I just have one more night to process this. I swear, I'll call them first thing in the morning. This is just so overwhelming and I need a minute." You say, worried that he'll pressure you into calling any minute now.

"Of course, love, you need to relieve the tension in your shoulders. We can handle this tomorrow."

You sigh, feeling relieved.

"Why don't you go take a hot shower, sweetheart, try to release your muscles." Otto beams, but you know that smirk all too well.
