You hear the door knob jiggle as Otto returns from campus. Your head snaps towards the door, nearly in sync with bff/n.

"Ms. Y/l/n, how are you feeling?" Otto says, strangely formal. The arms quietly converse amongst themselves, trying to understand the dynamic before them.

"Otto, they know" you chuckle, watching as his shoulders relax. He let's out a sigh of relief, no longer having to put up a front in his own house.

"Oh.. okay" he says, still unsure of how to behave.

"Dr. Octavius, your secret love is safe with me, I promise. You take care of her and you make her happy. That's good enough for me." They stand up and approach him. "I know you aren't a bad guy."

"I appriciate that" Otto says, gratefully. Our mistrust was misguided.. they're a good one, he says to his mechanical companions. Trust is not so easy for Otto, especially with you. He feels he failed you but seeing that he's given his trust to the right person, makes him feel less like a failure.

"Y/n you okay if I head out?"

"Yes of course. Thank you for coming over."

You and bff/n head towards the door, talking amongst yourselves.

"Call me okay? and please y/n call the police" they insist.

"I will I promise." You give them a hug goodbye and as you shut the door you feel your body growing heavy.

"Y/n?" Otto asks concerned. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah baby, I'm okay. Just a long day."

You go back to sit on the couch. You rest your hand against your hand, watching Otto roam around the apartment. He goes into the bedroom, taking off his coat and sweater and replacing them with his classic tank top and sweatpants. You watch as he changes admiring the work of art that you are so lucky to call yours.

When Otto comes back out he notices your eyes closing, you fighting to stay awake.

"Why don't you take a nap honey, I'll wake you once I've finished with dinner"

"Mmm okay.." you say sleepily.

You pry yourself off the couch, groggily shuffling towards the bedroom. You see a piece of paper on your pillow and you look back into the main room, watching as Otto preps the kitchen for dinner. You pick up the piece of paper to see a hand-written poem.

To my dearest Y/n,

Sunrise to sunset, I crave you, I adore you, I yearn for you.

While times are rough, and you are down,

I strive to eradicate that pesky frown.

Time with thee has shown me,

My love for you is pure and true.

I know I've been quite aloof,

But I promise you, you're all I need,

To fade away, let my mind be freed.

While my brain is scattered I'll always know

My love for you needs no proof.

My darling, despite my many-a flaw

You lift me to be a better man.

You hold my heart in your hand.

You give my lungs the breath of life.

It was me who saw you, and me you saw.
