Do I want to get out here?
I have to take pictures.
But Peter Parker
But my pictures
And my homework
No definitely cannot

"Sure"
I say
His face lights up
"Great"

He pushes opens the door and holds it open for me

"Can you drive?"
He asks and I shake my head
"No"

"That's fine we can take the subway"
He says

"To where"
I ask and he shrugs
"You'll find out"

We walked to the nearest subway entrance in
almost complete silence. Unless one of us thought of something to say. Like something that happened in our day or detail about our surroundings. But other than that it was just silence.

We got on the subway and that was pretty quiet too.

But I decided to ask
"Will you tell me where we're going?"

He looks down then back at me
"Well I wasn't going to say this cause it's kinda lame but i go to this sandwich shop after school everyday so I'm taking you there"

"Is this your favorite place?"
He nods
"Can I take you to my favorite place?"

"Sure. Why not"

"Im forcing you to go to my place first. It's super close to here"
"O-okay"
He says with a small chuckle

My favorite place: the library
We walked in and the smell of books and coffee greeted me
"I used to spend a lot of my afternoons here just reading books I couldn't afford"
I tell him

"I used to do that too. Especially since I wouldn't have room in my apartment. It was either buying toys or buying books"
He says as we walk to one of the isles of books
"My mom would always tell me to go to a public library to exchange books instead of buying but-"
"They have a better selection here"
Peter says and I try to hide the smile growing on my face
"Exactly! You get it"

"Plus being a kid and going to that cool kids section- the best"
He says

"I haven't been over there in a while"
I say running my fingers along the spines of the books
"Well we definitely have to go over there now"

He grabs my hand and we go over to the brightly colored kids section with the fake wood panel trees and the children's book characters drawn on the walls.

"I would play with that train set all the time"
He says walking over to small city mat with a crate of small wooden trains in it
"I feel like you were the type of kid that your parents had to drag you away from the toys"
He laughs
"Yeah they.. did"
He goes quickly goes quiet so I just ask

"Do you.. wanna go?"

He turns around to look at me
"No- No. I was just thinking how I got my first Lego set here.."
His voice fades out and his face tells that he questions what he had just said
"I just said that out loud"

I chuckle
"So what you build legos. I think that's cute"

He smiles then looks at the time on his phone
"Oh Delmars- my place closes at 4:30 so we should go"
"Why so early?"
I ask as we start to walk out
"The owner- Mr Delmar. He and his workers have a family so he likes to let them out so they can spend time with them"

His sandwich shop. It's a cute little corner store.
We had just made it in time right before I closes

We went inside there was a guy with a beard and gray hair inside
