The next day around 4 PM. Kevin is already near the coffee shop, waiting for Stella to arrive.
'Feck, I don't even know what she likes to drink!'
This thought plagued his mind as he stood outside of his car, slightly leaning on the hood of the car. It was four ten and he heard a car approaching the location. Kevin moved his head in the direction of the sound and he saw a car pulling into the parking lot just a couple of parking slots behind his. Then when the driver parked the car he heard a noise that came from his phone. He was more than sure that it was Stella who had texted him. And he was so right. She texted her that she was there and asked where he was. When he answered, Stella got out of her car and looked around. Kevin began to walk closer to her after locking the vehicle and waved at her from the distance. As he was quite tall, she didn't have a problem seeing his actions. He smiled for a moment when he saw her as the two of them walked closer to one another, eventually closing the distance.
"Hey Stella!" -he greeted her with a gentle smile.
"Hi!" -she greeted him back cautiously.
"Now that you're here, we can get some coffee." -he suggested, waiting for her reply.
"Sure, let's get going." -she replied before they began walking towards a crosswalk that would lead them to the other side where the coffee shop was."So, how was your day?" -Kevin asked as he looked at Stella for a moment.
"Oh, you know. Work as usual. Nothing noteworthy in particular." -she explained. "What about you?" -she turned her head towards him.
"Been playing guitar and been up to something else too, but... I don't know if I should tell you just yet. You promise you won't judge if I tell you?" -he questioned with an uneven tone.
"Don't worry about it! I don't judge. You can be as open as you want with me. Also, I'm a good secret keeper." -she giggled.Kevin smiled at her in response.
"Well, here goes nothing, I guess... I play games for a living. I'm some sort of a YouTuber even though I only upload twice a week. But that's a story for another time." -he nervously laughed.
"You play games for a living...? And you play guitar as well?" -she asked, unable to believe what she just heard.
"Yeah..." -he replied anxiously.
"That is just... absolutely awesome!" -she replied wholeheartedly.
"Y-you think so?!" -he answered with a shocked expression on his face.
"I do think so, yeah!" -she said enthusiastically. "Whenever someone played the guitar near me, I always felt like it touched my soul in a way that no other instrument could. I... think you know what I mean."
"I completely get you." -he laughed softly. After a few more steps, they stood in front of the shop. Kevin quickly got before her and opened the door for her to step in first. She thanked him and smiled. Kevin nodded silently, also smiling. The smell of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air as they stepped inside. They were greeted with some tables in front of the counter which had people occupying them.
They walked up to the counter to order coffee. Out of courtesy, Kevin let Stella order first.
"Hi. I'd like to order an Irish coffee to go without any sugar in it." -she explained.'Wow, she's straightforward and determined.'
This thought crossed Kevin's mind as he observed the way she acted. After she ordered, it was his turn.
"Hello. I'd like to get a cup of Cappuccino to go as well." -he explained.
"Alright, your orders will be ready in a few." -the cashier said.
Both Kevin and Stella nodded silently and stepped away from the counter so everybody else could order if they wanted.
