Chapter 102 - Inside the Crammed Cabin (2)When Lu JingYan finally looked up from the documents, it was already getting dark outside. He frowned deeply and said, “We might have to spend the night here.”
Chi Ying tightened her lips a bit, her eyes clear, and said, “I am fine with that. Sorry for the trouble I’ve caused you.”
Lu JingYan gave her another look before he looked at his watch.
He felt a bit regretful. Owing to the fluctuation of his own emotions, she had gone without food this entire time.
“Are you hungry yet?” he asked.
Ever since Chi Ying had been filming, she ate very little. She didn’t even always have dinner. Not feeling hungry, she told him the truth, “I’m fine.”
Before she was even done talking, she saw Lu JingYan getting up immediately and walked over to the little kitchen behind the seats.
Chi Ying looked over curiously and saw that there were steamer and over in the kitchen. Lu JingYan had prepared some frozen food before they took off in the morning. As the plane was on the ground right now, they have many options as to what to make.
“Do you need some help?” asked Chi Ying.
“No need.” Lu JingYan declined her in a deep voice.
He was a tall man and, right now, he was focused with a serene temperament. He was frowning slightly habitually. His long and beautiful fingers were surprisingly agile and it didn’t take long before there was delectable aroma in the air.
The aroma attacked Chi Ying’s nose and went straight to her stomach. The one who just said she wasn’t hungry could now clearly hear her own stomach growled loudly. She blushed.
Lu JingYan placed dinner on top of the little tray in front of Chi Ying with a cold look and didn’t say anything to her.
Chi Ying chewed slowly and enjoyed her food. Her tastebuds were greatly satisfied and, for a while there, she had forgotten about the sadness of being deserted. Quite the contrary, she felt that she was on a trip with pretty decent service.
Lu JingYan, on the other hand, acted quite the opposite of her. He was quiet. It’d seem that he had reached his limit after just a few bites and didn’t have much of an appetite.
The air was quiet again when Lu JingYan picked up his documents and started indulging in them again.
By the time Chi Ying was done eating, she noticed that Lu JingYan had already fallen asleep leaning against the plane window.
His lids were shut tightly and, perhaps the air-conditioning was too strong earlier, his lips were cracked from dryness. The fountain pen rolled out of his hand and onto the carpet on the floor without making a sound.
Chi Ying hesitated for a few seconds before she tried to adjust the back of his seat down as much as she could. Low and behold, the seat could really reach a 180-degree configuration horizontal with the floor. It had practically turned into a twin bed.
Chi Ying tried to adjust Lu JingYan’s body with her hand to get him to lie down flat. The moment she touched his cloth, she felt a very hot sensation on her finger tips.
She was taken aback a little. She then tested his forehead with the back of her hand. It was burning as well. She had finally confirmed that Lu JingYan was running a fever.
She didn’t want to have too much to do with Lu JingYan but, out of common decency, she was worried.
Chi Ying was able to quickly have Lu JingYan lied down flat. As she was very close to him, she could feel that even his breath was hot and he was breathing on her from time to time. Not only did he not have the kind of distasteful smell of cigarette of alcohol common among men, she seemed to have detected a hint of minty smell.
When he was asleep, the man was quiet and pretty and his contour seemed to be softer than usual. His brows, on the other hand, were furrowed deeply as though he had a lot on his mind.
Chi Ying went looking for medicines anxiously. She searched through all of the obvious locations around them and didn’t seem any medicines.
She didn’t want to dig through the other areas.
Finally, she found a suit jacket and placed it over Lu JingYan’s abdominal area.
It was so dark in the mountain that not even the moon could be seen. Only the rain continued to pour down on the ground. Surrounding the open area that they were at was layers of Chinese scholar trees. As heavy as the rain was, even those were difficult to see.
Chi Ying felt an inexplicable chill down her spine.
This would have been a safe spot to spend the night, except that Lu JingYan was sick.
