Chapter 101 -  Inside the Crammed Cabin (1)

She decided that she should let Director Gu and Jiang NingNing know that she was safe. “Is there a way I can charge my phone up?” She asked.

“Sure.” Lu JingYan pointed at the USB outlet and handed her two charge cords.

Android and Apple… Okay, she has a TypeC. Neither one of these would work.

Seeing the disappointment on Chi Ying, Lu JingYan’s Adam’s apple rolled and he said to her, “I’ll explain to Director Gu. You don’t need to worry about it.”

Pausing for a couple of seconds, Lu JingYan started hesitantly, “Any other family members or friends you want to get ahold of? You can use my phone.”

Chi Ying suddenly thought about Chi Cheng’s round little face hovering over the screen. He must be waiting for her to call.

But… Calling her family with Lu JingYan’s phone was doubtless a bad idea.

Chi Ying shook her head. “No, not right now.”

Lu JingYan looked at her intensely and frowned a little. He was capturing her hesitation and indecisiveness. After a long while, he finally asked in a muted voice, “Do you… live alone?”

Lu JingYan wanted to know if she was with Xiao Hang.

Chi Ying thought Lu JingYan was alluding to the fact that she has no family members or friend. She couldn’t very well tell him about the existence of Chi Cheng but she didn’t want to deny flat out either.

She remained silent for a little bit then said softly. “No, but now is not the best time to call.”

Lu JingYan misunderstood what she meant and found her words harsh.

His look dimmed a little and his pupil contracted some. Even his tone wasn’t as warm as it was before. “Okay. I get it.”

The subject stopped abruptly and the atmosphere has stagnated for a quick second.

When Chi Ying looked up again, Lu JingYan had returned to work to her surprised.

She had just now noticed that there were a lot of books and documents inside the cabin. She could not begin to comprehend how busy a CEO was.

Chi Ying frowned slightly. She seemed to recall that he has been a workaholic in the original novel as well. She recalled the very important decision that was all over Weibo this morning.

He must be a really busy person.

Chi Ying rarely stayed in the same room with someone of the opposite gender, especially in such a confined space. Never mind that Lu JingYan’s aura was much colder than most other men.

Sitting there dryly, Chi Ying wasn’t even sure where to put her arms and legs. Now that Lu JingYan had returned to work, she actually felt more relieved and was much more relaxed than she was earlier.

Sitting on the seat, she propped her head up aimlessly.

The sky was outside was gray, she could hear the sound from the propeller that they have heard earlier in the day.

Jiang NingNing asked at the time whether that was aerial photography. Even though she doubted aerial photography would have sounded so loud, she still insisted on believing that it was a drone.

Piecing everything together, did Lu JingYan only arrive this morning?

But it was very dangerous flying a helicopter in a windy day like this.

Chi Ying wanted to ask him how long had this helicopter been here but Lu JingYan, next to her, had his mouth shut tight and seemed very engrossed. She had no heart to disturb him.

What she didn’t know was that there had been typhoons all over the country the last couple of days along with thunderstorms. Most of the flights and trains had been delayed. As important as Lu JingYan was, he still wasn’t able to purchase a plane ticket regardless of how much he was willing to pay. He worried about her so he finally chose to trust the ability of his own helicopter.

The helicopter almost crashed on the cliff while she was filming this morning. Luckily Lu JingYan and the pilot were calm enough to land the helicopter in this open area.

Perhaps affected by the mood of Lu JingYan working, Chi Ying, too, pulled out a financial magazine from the back of a seat and started flipping through it.

Time passed by and it was started to get dark outside. The rain showed no signs of subsiding. Water was pooling around them and the helicopter started to look like a manmade harbor.
