i'm afraid of this one
i ran so far that i left myself behind
in the moment of rejection,
i dug deeper, ran further
until i found the end
and what appeared to me
there in the distance
was everything
it just took a while
the rain never stopped
but the sun was brighter like before
the clouds, like me, tried to protect it
this time i let it go, let it flourish
without those controlling capacities you held over me
you never meant to hurt me
but you did
this freedom allowed me to smile, laugh and more importantly breathe on my own
