confetti distorted the lights that night
singing songs of decades past
like we knew the pain in their voices
i jump to find a higher feeling
i hit the ground to feel a tremble again
and i remember it still
you sold my heart in pursuit of someone else
i fall to hear the pain around me
in the eyes of those before me
the ones who warned me of the torture
you ruined me
now you can have the waves of ache that crashed my shores
broken upon the rocks
i see the corpse of a love
smiling whilst the remains wash away
we lay witness to a man liberated
i found freedom within the loss
it only took an explosion to find it
my tears, a sad reminder to begin again
i lost a love that was never found
