Abyss saw the luminescent mountains in the distance.  They had stopped to rest for the night in the nearby gem caves.  Most of the gems in this part of the cave were small and growing back into place so it was perfect to hide in.  Brightburne brought over a stream of light and played with it softly.  Curling it around his horns and talons.
"My mother used to do that with me." Abyss said watching the Lightbringer.
Brightburne smiled and started to bring more light from the crystals and make a light show.  It was like stars filling the cave sky.  If they were an underground species like the Cave Crawlers it would have been a sight.
Abyss saw the smirk Brightburne had as he watched Abyss goggle over the starry light filling the air.
"It's magical how your tribe can do this." Abyss said.
"Yeah, I always wonder how we can do this." Brightburne said watching the stars of light fizzle out.
Abyss laid his head on his arm.  He sighed and watched the twinkling lights in the walls fade in and out.
"Do you have any special powers?" Brightburne asked moving closer to the Soul Stealer.
Abyss thought for a moment.  Then he breathed out a green smoke, it was thick and Brightburne recoiled after inhaling just a little.
He soon started to cough.
"Goddess what is that?" He asked in-between coughs.
Abyss tilted his head.  He didn't smell anything off with his gas breath.
"Does it smell?" Abyss asked sniffing the air.
"No it burns." Brightburne said finally stopping the coughing.
Abyss tilted his head.
"Gas breath burns?" Abyss asked.
Brightburne nodded.
He didn't want to know what a full dose of that breath could do.

In the morning dark dragons started to fly threw the mountain ravines.  Many stopped at the cave holes and brought gems out.  Soul Capital's luminescent mountains used to belong to the Light Bringers, but after a fairly grewsome war the Soul Stealers own most of the continent.
Abyss watched carefully to make sure to Soul Stealer would find Brightburne.  If any of them would try and stop at the cave Abyss was in, he would just say he was mining this one.  The Soul Stealer watched back and forth for either Brightburne to wake up or a Soul Stealer to come and ruin the adventure.
Abyss saw Brightburne wake up and stretch his orange wings.  He walked over to the Soul Stealer and saw a lot of Soul Stealers outside.
"What do we do?" Abyss asked.
Brightburne tilted his head.
"That way is mostly clear." He said pointing in the direction of the one place Abyss wasn't allowed to go.  The Capital.

Abyss and Brightburne flew into the Capital around noon when Light Bringers would absorb the suns light and preform photosynthesis or something.  Abyss didn't really know how it was done even though his mother said it was very important.
"Brightburne?  Do you need to consume the suns energy?" Abyss asked.
Brightburne shook his head.
"I can do it like this just fine.  Plus I have a lot of stored energy."
Abyss looked around, posters of a green dragon with curled horns were on basically every poster.  A wanted poster of Aurora Mist was seen every so often and a frequently updated wanted poster that had no face, but a description and how old the dragon would be.
It was surprisingly accurate to Abyss.  Which got him looks and whispers.
"Why did we come here again?" Abyss asked Brightburne.
"We need stuff for things.  You don't expect us to go on an adventure without supplies?" Brightburne huffed.
Abyss nodded and walked along the Light Bringer.
A dragon in armor walked up to the two of them and tilted his head.
"State your names and business.  Light Bringers aren't very welcome here young man."  He growled.
"I'm Brightlight and that's Abyss, we're just here to pick up supplies and we'll be on our way." Brightburne said.
Abyss felt a twitch of pain, that happened if anyone lied around him and it hurt.
The guard huffed and walked away, silently side eyeing the two as they walked.  Abyss saw him pick up one of those posters and watch him carefully.
"Brighburne!  Why did you lie!" Abyss whisper yelled.
"I'm a prince, everyone will try and kidnap me if they hear my actual name." He explained.
Abyss watched as another guard started to eye him and Brightburne too.
"Brightburne, I think we should leave." Abyss said turning to his Light Bringer companion.
Brightburne shrugged Abyss off.  The Soul Stealer did look paranoid as a duckmingo about to be pounced on.
"Oh don't be a duckmingo Abyss."
"But, I really do have a bad feeling Brig-."
The green dragon from the posters landed in front of the two. His piercing green eyes locked with both young dragons.
"My my what is a Light Bringer doing in my city." The green dragon asked.
Abyss looked at the Light Bringer who froze. Brightburne immediately bowed and started to mumble under his breath.
Abyss bowed as well, but didn't fully understand why.
"Oh don't fret my fellow Soul Stealer, I don't require my citizens to bow before me." He said.
Abyss got up and tilted his head. He must have been a lord or a general. He was huge compared to Abyss, Abyss being 7 feet tall and the green dragon being well over 13 feet.
"Mind introducing yourselves?" The green dragon asked.
"Oh, I'm Abyss, and that's my friend Brightlight." Abyss felt the same ping, "We're just on our way to see the high priests."
The green dragon tilted his head, he motioned for a guard to get him something and the guard came back with two papers. Abyss knew what he was looking at, he was trying to figure out if that was Aurora Mist's child.
"Do you know an Aurora Mist?" The green dragon growled.
"No sir, I've never heard that name in my life."
"How old are you?" He growled again.
"22 sir."
The green dragon huffed.
"King Devastation! That boy looks like the description." The guard from before said to the kings.
Abyss looked up at the towering dragon, he was the king, he knew Aurora Mist, and they looked very similar in appearance. He backed away from the large green dragon.
"Brightlight... I think we must be going." Abyss said.
His mother told him to be warry around his father, and this dragon looked almost identical to the small dragon.
A dark blue almost black dragon emerged from the crowed.
"Devastation dear, why don't you let the poor things go." She said looking over at Abyss.
She locked eyes with him and immediately knew who it was.
"Damnit Aurora." She growled.
King Devastation turned around and looked at his wife.
She was not the same since letting Aurora go, Devastation wanting no more children unless. He wanted Aurora's child, and Abyss was standing several feet from him.
"Aurora Mist?" Abyss asked drawing the attention of Devastation.
Devastation tilted his head at the black and blue dragon.
"Uhm she is married to Destiny... He's red and stuff, and uh they live in Crystal caves near the water treatment plant." Abyss said.
Devastation was intrigued.
"And how do you know this?" Devastation asked.
Brightburne rubbed his face, Abyss was going to be his own downfall.
"Because she used to live in Crown mountain with him, until she moved way, she told everyone where she was going and said for no one to follow her, she wanted a nice cave in the wild." Abyss was good a lying, extremely good, but if your target has truth seeker then you're doomed.
"Oh really?" Devastation asked. His eyes light up and his back scales lit up.
Abyss backed away from the king.
"Say about half of that again, who doesn't know that I have truth seeker in this capital." Devastation growled.
This time he smacked the guard bugging him about the description.
"This dragon is clearly younger so I suppose you shut up unless you want me to steal your soul." Devastation threatened.
"Wait how old do you think I am?" Abyss asked.
Devastation tilted his head.
"Well you can't be older than I say 16. You're very short, but I'm giving you the benefit."
Abyss stood there, if King Devastation had truth seeker and Abyss said yes to he's 16 he'll just keep guessing until he gets the right age. If Abyss didn't answer Devastation would get suspicious and ask him again more aggressively.
"No, I'm not 16, I'm actually his age." Abyss pointed to Brightburne.
Devastation finally snatched the paper from the annoying guard.  Darkness froze as Devastation realized what he had just found.
A 21 year old heir.  None of Devastation's children had lasted more than 10 years.  (10 years being equivalent to basically an adult.  Dragons at age 10 are considered adults.). Fright was the oldest Devastation ever let one of his children get. But looking at Abyss in the face made him pause for a second. He had made sure his wife couldn't give him anymore children, so this is what he ended up with. He thought he would get a better turn out, being with a Light Bringer and all.
Devastation chuckled.
"Welcome home son."
