Brenna's POV
I stared up at Remus, the nearly full moon illuminating his features and scars, and he rubbed the back of his neck shyly. He stared at the ground for a while until I finally spoke.
"W- What was that for?" I stuttered, still shocked from the kiss.
He merely shrugged and pushed past me, trudging up the hill silently. I deduced that calling after him wouldn't stop him so I followed after him, staying a few feet behind him at all costs. For some reason, I couldn't speak. I wanted to tell him that I was completely alright with what he did, maybe too alright with it.
I looked back up at Remus and felt this odd, fluttering feeling fill my stomach. I'd felt it before when I looked at him, but never as strong as it was now. I hugged my arms to my chest to keep warm against the frigid air as fresh snow floated lazily down to earth. My teeth began to chatter but I stared at my feet as I approached the castle.
Suddenly, a warmth spread across my back and I looked up to see that Remus had dropped his coat around my shoulders.
"Remus," I whispered.
"No," He sighed as he raised a hand to silence me. "I know what you're going to say. It won't happen again."
"Wait!" I cried as he turned away from me. I couldn't find the words to explain how I felt so I leaned up and kissed him lightly on the lips.
After a moment of silence, a grin spread across his face. "Message received."
I laughed and he wrapped his arms around my waist and drew me into his chest, hugging me as if I would disappear if he didn't hold on. A noise sounded behind us and we whirled around to find James, Sirius, and Peter lying flat on the ground behind a bush. James had his hand pressed over Peter's mouth, attempting to stifle his sneeze.
"Funny seeing you two here!" James laughed, jumping up from the ground and brushing himself off.
"We were spying on you," Sirius shrugged nonchalantly.
"Yeah," I groaned. "We gathered that."
"Why exactly did you feel this urge?" Remus sighed, running his fingers through his hair.
"We're your best mates!" James squealed. "It's our job to watch your every move in the company of a girl."
"Finally got a girlfriend," Sirius laughed. "I was staring to thing you'd be single forever."
"Shut up!" Remus and I snapped in unison.
"Awww," He laughed. "You're already in sync."
I tugged Remus' coat tighter around me and shivered, sneezing into my cloak. Remus frowned and put his arm around my shoulders, drawing me closer.
"I have to get her inside before she catches a cold," Remus huffed.
James and Peter exchanged a look then burst into a chorus of 'awwww's. I rolled my eyes at them and silently let Remus lead me into the castle. He dropped me off at my common room and kissed me on the cheek, turning away quickly when I caught his ears turning red.
Remus' POV
I made my way back to my common room and sat beside James, mulling over the events of the night. I'd kisses Brenna and she hadn't rejected me like I thought she would.
"So, Brenna?" Sirius smirked.
"Do you have a problem with it?" I snapped uncharacteristically.
"Of course not," He laughed, holding his hands up in surrender. "Peter owes me five Galleons though."
Peter sighed and chucked the large gold coins at Sirius, who caught them all, much to Peter's disappointment.
"We all saw it coming," James shrugged.
"Very predictable event," Sirius chuckled, stroking his Galleons.
"Speaking of predictable," James grinned, "I believe you owe me ten Galleons for Remmy here kissing her first."
Sirius groaned and pulled out five more coins, throwing all ten at James, who didn't catch them.
"You call yourself a Seeker," Sirius snorted.
"I can't believe you people," I sighed.
"What!" Peter exclaimed. "Aren't you happy we had complete faith in your impending relationship?"
"We aren't even officially together," I frowned.
"She kissed you too," Sirius mused. "That's pretty official."
"Oh please," James snorted. "Like you're officially with every girl you kiss."
"Watch it Mr. Doesn't Lily Look Beautiful This Evening," He smirked. James crossed his arms over his chest and pouted. Peter then began throwing jelly beans at James, ten points for getting one in his scarf and five points for getting one in his arms.
"We're happy for you mate, we really are," Sirius sighed.
"You don't even like Brenna," I growled.
"But I do like you," He smirked and wiggled his eyebrows. I threw a pillow at him and he chucked it back even harder, knocking me off my bed.
"We better get to bed," Peter said as one of his jelly beans bounced off James' glasses.
"Yeah," I agreed, dropping my pillow back onto my bed and flopping down. As I fell asleep, I replayed my kiss with Brenna over and over in my head.
Sorry this is kinda short, writers block slays.
