Sorry for the wait, I got distracted and had to run an errand! Hope you like this chapter. Merry Christmas in June everyone x)
Brenna's POV
"How thoughtful."
After heading to Sydney and I's dorms to see what other presents there were, we followed Remus to his. On his bed, we found James, Sirius, and Peter wearing only Christmas boxers and bows on their heads.
"We're ready," Sirius smirked as soon as he saw us.
Remus hung his head, shaking it in disbelief, and laughed. "You guys are idiots."
"Hey mate, at least we didn't get you socks," Sirius shrugged.
"Yeah, I got worse," Remus sighed.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, all three of us aren't for you!" James laughed. "Sirius is your present, I'm Brenna's, and Peter is Sydney's."
The boys revealed tags around their wrists that labeled who belonged to who.
"Oh. My. Merlin," I laughed. "You're unbelievable."
"Don't be so cold," James grinned, wiggling his eyebrows and glancing at the snow outside.
"This is the best present you're ever going to get," Sirius grinned as he pushed Remus onto his bed.
"Woah there!" Remus yelped and rolled off the bed and away from Sirius. "I've got a girlfriend!"
"Are you saying that if you didn't, you'd be all for it?" Sirius smirked. "Because I can arrange for James to steal your girl." Sirius snapped his fingers and James picked me up bridal style and threw me onto his bed, flopping down beside me and putting his arm around me.
Remus brushed off his sweater and sighed, "Bugger off. She's mine." He pried me from James' arms and kissed me, as if you mark his territory.
"Dude," James frowned. "Cold. Can't you share?"
"Nope," Remus and I said in unison after breaking apart.
"Hey, where are Petter and Sydney?" I observed.
"They left a few minutes ago," Sirius shrugged. "Peter planned to ask her on a date. I suppose that's where he's gone."
"Oh my gosh!" I yelped. "Sydney's never been on a date before!"
"Really?" Sirius gasped.
"Well, neither had I, before Remus."
"Ew," He groaned. "More virgins."
"Oh shut up," I said and threw one of James' pillows at him.
"Hey!" James cried and dived off the bed after it. "That's my favorite pillow!"
***
"I'm bored," Sirius groaned. Remus and I were laying on his bed, scribbling notes in each others books. A very blushy Peter and Sydney had returned half an hour ago and James was laying upside-down on his bed.
"I have an idea!" James shouted excitedly, flopping right side up and nearly falling off his bed. "How about we play some Christmas Quidditch?"
"Christmas Quidditch?" I echoed nervously.
"I'm in," Sirius shrugged. There was a chorus of agreements that followed and everyone looked at me expectedly.
"I don't know," I sighed and wrung my hands together. "I'm not very good on a broom."
"You've got three Quidditch players that'll be up there with you," James smiled. "You'll be fine."
Sydney snorted, "You've never seen her fly!"
"I'm not that bad!" I yelped defensively. "I'm just not very... sturdy."
"We'll help you out," Sirius offered with a smile. Reluctantly, I agreed to play and everyone set off to get dressed and meet on the field.
***
I breathed into my mittens in an attempt to warm them as I shuffled through the snow and out to the Quidditch field. The snow had stopped falling after breakfast so the snow had a fresh crunching sound when you walked on it. I shivered and pulled my had down farther as James, Sirius, and Remus came into view.
James and Sirius were wearing their Quidditch robes and Remus was wearing a sweater with a snowman on it.
"Geez, Bren," James laughed as I hobbled towards them. "Do you really need three jackets?"
"It's cold and if I fall off my broom, I'll be padded."
Remus shuffled forward and laughed, pulling my scarf down to reach my mouth. He kissed me softly and I felt one of my jackets disappear.
"That was a distraction!" I growled angrily, glaring at Remus, who was holding my jacket and wearing a goofy grin.
"It's for your own good," Remus shrugged. "Now give me the other one."
"But-"
"No buts! Hand it over."
I reluctantly shrugged off my jacket, knowing there was no use in refusing. He took the two jackets and set them out of the way where they wouldn't get wet. I crossed my arms over my chest, much more easily than I would have with three jackets on, and Remus dropped his arm around my shoulder.
"Let's divvy up teams, shall we?" James grinned as Sydney and Peter joined us. James and Sirius stood six feet apart from each other and claimed to be team captains, taking turns picking people for their teams.
James chose Peter and me while Sirius chose Remus and Sydney. Once everything was decided, Sirius explained how we were going to play. We lined up and one by one, kicked off into the sky. I had a wobbly start and I didn't get very high before the match started.
Around and around the six of us flew, beating and dodging Bludgers and collection points with the Quaffle. James was our Seeker, so he flew high above, searching for any sign of the Snitch. Sirius was doing the same, but circling the stadium in a slow orbit. There was a loud thwack as Peter, our Beater, sent a Bludger soaring towards Remus, who was also a Beater.
I hovered near the lowest goal post on our side, being the Keeper, and nervously awaited someone to send a Quaffle my way. Since there were so little people, scoring with the Quaffle wasn't the main focus and I was safe for the time being.
Well, that was until Peter swung at the Bludger and missed. It zoom towards me and I panicked, diving down to miss the impact. It followed after me as Peter chased it, Remus flying a little ways below me. Remus and I made eye contact and, as if our thoughts were linked, I knew exactly what I needed to do.
I froze midair and let the Bludger catch up, shifting to the side so it would meet me at a T. I counted to three slowing, may hand positioned on my broom in a way that allowed me to crouch on it. On the fourth count, I dropped my feet out from under myself and yelped as I hung from my broom. I counted another three seconds before dropping straight down behind Remus on his broom. I snatched my broom from the air before the Bludger could get to it and Peter smacked it back towards the other side. Remus dropped me off in the sand and in an instant, I was back on my broom and defending Team Dreamy (Peter and I let James name us).
