We had hired a large outdoor hall for the wedding venue. There was a large circular table right in the middle, smaller tables scattered around. I sat next to Damon, holding his hand tightly. Next to him was Enzo, Stefan, Liz, with Caroline, Bonnie, Ric, Lizzie, Josie, and Jeremy sitting around the table from my side. Everyone else was seated at other tables around us.

I saw Damon turn to look at me out of the corner of my eye and I turned too. His eyes met mine, and I squeezed his hand under the table. I could feel his wedding ring pressing into my skin, reminding me of what he was now. My husband. Damon was my husband.

After everyone had eaten, the caterers wheeled out a big cake. It was three tiers tall, pure white, with gold flowers stencilled in. Damon and I held the knife together as we cut into it. And then, Liz went around and got all the girls in a group. I quickly dashed over to Enzo.

"Ready?" I asked him. He nodded, looking extremely nervous. "If you're not sure, you can do it later."

"I've never been more sure." He told me with a smile.

I smiled and nodded. Liz handed me back my flowers with a smile, and I took them. No one else knew what I was going to do; Enzo had only confided in me. Standing in front of the group of all the unmarried girls, I turned my back. Lifting my bouquet over my head, I waited a few moments before I turned around again.

"What are you doing?" Damon mumbled from nearby.

I searched the group quickly and then walked closer. Everyone glanced at each other as I approached Bonnie, who looked extremely confused. With a teary smile, I held out the flowers and pressed them into her hands. Bonnie - still not getting it - took the flowers with a questioning look on her face.

Enzo walked up behind Bonnie and the rest of the girls stepped back, finally understanding. He tapped on her shoulder, and as Bonnie turned around, Enzo sank down onto one knee. I felt a hand around my waist and leaned in to Damon as he joined me, watching Bonnie and Enzo.

I saw Bonnie's body visibly freeze in shock as she realised what was going on. Enzo reached out and took her hand, holding out a ring. Caroline from where she was standing nearby had her mouth open in a wide smile, tears on her cheeks.

"Marry me, Bonnie Bennett." Enzo said.

"Yes." Bonnie nodded. "Of course, yes."

Everyone standing around burst into applause as Enzo slipped the ring onto Bonnie's finger and then stood. Bonnie threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. I smiled at my best friend, my heart aching with happiness.

"You two planned this?" Damon whispered in my ear.

"Enzo asked me the other day." I whispered back.

Damon just hugged me closer, pressing his lips to the side of my cheek. He lifted his other arm and wound it around my body. I hugged his arms close as Bonnie broke away from Enzo, eyes shining with tears.

And right on cue, music started playing. We hadn't opted to do the traditional first dance for our wedding, and the music was a bit faster than a slow dance. Slowly, people started trickling onto the big open space we had left as a dance floor. Breaking away from Damon, I held out my hand in an invitation. Damon slipped his hand into mine, letting me pull him onto the dance floor.

We danced together to the music, the sounds of laughter and talking and music surrounding us. After a few songs, Caroline and Bonnie appeared next to us. Damon gave me a light kiss before handing me over. I watched him disappear into the crowd with a smile on my lips.

"I cannot believe this!" Caroline called over the music as the three of us danced together, a huge smile on her face. "Elena's married, Bonnie's engaged." She sighed.

I nodded and then my eyes caught something over her shoulder. Pausing, I blinked and realised who it was. Klaus Mickaelson, dressed in a suit, stood just outside the venue. His eyes searched the crowd, looking. And then his gaze locked with mine, flickering for just a moment to Caroline as she danced next to me.

He didn't move, and I suddenly realised why. He was being polite, not wanting to intrude when he wasn't invited. I gave him a gesture that he was welcome, and then I leaned over to speak in Caroline's ear.

"I think..." I said. "I think that you have a visitor."

Caroline turned at the tone of my voice and her eyes flickered around until they locked on Klaus. Her mouth fell open slightly as they stared at each other for a very long moment. Bonnie and I looked at each other, and then at Caroline.

"Well, go on." I nudged Caroline's arm. "You have the oldest hybrid in the world standing right there, and he's so in love with you it's not even funny. Now go over there, and make out with the guy."

Caroline looked like she was torn between throwing something at me or hugging me. But she just took a shaky breath and walked off into the crowd, heading for Klaus. Bonnie and I watched, hand in hand, as Caroline approached him. I didn't know what I was expecting her to do, but what she did was one of the last things I would have guessed.

She walked very quickly towards Klaus, who opened his mouth to say something as she got close. But instead of letting him talk, Caroline quite literally grabbed Klaus' shirt and pulled him close. She kissed him, and I saw the shock on his face before he realised what was happening and he kissed her back.

"I love weddings." Bonnie sighed, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"It'll be yours soon." I nudged her. Bonnie grinned wider.
