NARRATOR POV

He had done it. Jormungandr had cleared the world of any potential threats. Some Demoms called themselves Gods only to be killed by him. He is now making his way through Japan. He enjoys this little part of the world it's very quiet at times. Jormungandr has had to put a power seal on himself as to not attract too much attention. He's under the rader if you will. He is walking through a forest with bright red leaves falling from the trees, the sun shining through gaps in little places. He felt at peace for the first time in his many Years of life. He had noticed a war in these lands but only watched not wishing to fight, though he was curious to how the conflict came about. A kuni came flying out the tree nearly hitting him.

???:you have entered Ashina lands, leave or die

The voice was female. By the throw he could tell she meant to miss.

Jormungandr:I am simply passing through, I wish for no conflict

???:then leave, you will not pass

He sighed.

Jormungandr:I will not run from someone that hides

Then a woman appeard. She wore all green and had a dragon tatto on her arms leading to her back. Black hair and a mask. He had seen this girl somewhere before but where? Jormungandr threw his cloak away and unsheathed his swords. His attacker had a kuni and small scythe.

???:I will make your death quick

Jormungandr:try...

The two stared at each other waiting to see who would move first. They sprung into action at the same time. With the power Jormungandr locked away they were about equal. Jormungandr jumped onto a tree and prepaled himself forward cutting the girl slightly. However she returned the favour by throwing a kuni that grased him. She jumped in the air bring her scythe down onto him. He blocked the attack and there blades locked. Jormungandr being stronger pressed her away and against a tree. With this momentum he was able to press his blades against her neck.

Jormungandr: yield...

???:you'll have to kill me

He was about to but an arrow his side. He looked and saw many Samurai waiting. He let her go and felt dizzy. He soon fell, without his power he is just as weak as an Oni. He awoke in a bed or the floor with a soft mattress on it. He sat up and his long red hair hung down over his face. He moved it back and looked around the room. It was small. He got up and put on his clothes that were next to him except his mask. He could hear voices. The girl was one of them.

Girl:please Father we cannot allow him to stay. He could be a spy

Man:no...if he is simply passing through then we will mend his wounds

He was much older. Jormungandr opened the sliding door.

Jormungandr:you have five seconds to explain before I start killing you

Man:ah good your awake

He was old.

The girl readied herself

The girl readied herself.

Man:Akali sit

Akali:but-

Man:now

She done so.

Man:I apologise for my Daughters brash behaviour we cannot be too careful these days

Jormungandr:well maybe she should learn some manners

Akali:why you-!

Ashina:she does need some improvement I will admit. I am Lord Isshin Ashina, this is my home

Jormungandr:your home...?

Ashina:yes, however our home is much larger than this. Come

He stood and led him outside. Once they got out they saw Clan Ashina in all their glory. Atop the castle where they stood they saw the rest of the castle and the town below.

Ashina:we Ashine are in a great struggle. The Shogun has united the great clans against us and we are all that remains

Jormungandr:why do you not run?

Ashina:we have nowhere to run too. We are surrounded by the sea and the Shoguns forces. The only other place is the monastery in the mountains but...I will not risk the lives of my people going there

Jormungandr:then why do you fight? There's no hope in winning so why?

Ashina:we came to this land 200 years ago. It is ours this is where our people have made our home. We will not give it up without a fight

They were fighting for somthing a concept unknown to Jormungandr. He ever only faught for his Father's need for conquest. He had never had anything or one to protect.

Ashina:we shall give you a horse and send you past the mountains if you avoid the camps and patrols you will be fine

Jormungandr thought for a moment. Maybe this was what he needed? To fight for somthing other than blood and glory. He could pass himself off as a Mercenary.

Jormungandr:no. I think I'll stay

Akali:you can't be serious? You almost killed me!

Jormungandr:you attacked first

Akali:you trespassed!

Jormungandr:I'm just learning this war shit now and with some consideration I'll help

Ashina:what?

Jormungandr:I'll help you. I'm a Mercenary, you don't have to pay me I'll fight of my own accord

Ashina:in that case. We would be honoured to have you

Akali was in disbelief her Father was letting this man into their home and letting him fight. He was skilled yes but she didn't want someone that tried to kill her in the same room as her.

Ashina:Akali show him around the village. Your room will he ready when you return...and your name?

He couldn't tell them his real name. Incase any were Demons.

Akaza:Hittori, Akaza Hittori

With a new name and purpose in his life Jormungandr now Akaza will fight for somthing other than himself. With much distain Akali gave Akaza a tour of their home. It was cheery, as if they weren't in a war all together. The people bowed when ever they walked by and Akali would politly bow back. Akaza was still trying to come to terms of exactly how he got here...he left a life of luxury and battle for somthing he once never understood. On time he will.
