**Monty**
"Are you going to be okay?" I questioned Moxie as we stood outside of our moms house, he still seemed a bit upset after that Abel guy left.
He looked at me with knitted brows but with a soft sigh he forced a smile.
"I'll be fine, I won't stress unless things start getting bad for us, or either of those clans actually show up." His eyes fell on Joshua who stood right behind me.
"I'll make sure to run it by Jensen and the others today while we're out, so for now just focus on yourselves and the little one you're expecting in two months." He told them.
Magna looked at the other before he nodded.
"That's the idea for now, make sure you tell everyone to keep a low profile, the last thing we need is Ziggy or Jayce acting out." He said.
Joshua smirked softly.
"Trust me, we grew up around those guys, and if anyone is hard to get control over, is actually going to be Rocky." He said.
Magna's jaw ticked.
"We have some problematic friends." He sighed.
Joshua smirked placing his hand on my back to turn us away.
"Don't I know it? I'll keep you updated with how the conversations go, avoid the street life as much as you can and don't do anything if it can be avoided." He told them.
Magna rolled his eyes at that.
"You don't have to tell me twice, make sure you two watch out for yourselves while you're out today." He told us.
Joshua smirked softly with a nod.
"That's the idea." He pushed me forward as we walked towards the street, his hand slipping into mine as I walked next to the other.
"Josh-"
"Everything is going to be fine." He reassured me walking down the street as I frowned softly.
"I wanted to share the news with them today, but it seems like there is more important things to focus on." I frowned.
Joshua frowned as well.
"Nothing is more important than announcing you're pregnant, we'll give it a few days for everything to calm down and then we'll try to announce it again." He told me as I looked away frowning.
"How can I compete with the fact my brother is having an e-"
His hand covered my mouth as I went to glare but didn't once I noticed vampires pausing and looking in our direction.
I looked at Joshua to only frown at the sight of his blue eyes, black as he glared softly at everyone on the street.
"Don't forget you and I are a vampire omega couple as well, the first time you even say that word on accident, the vampires and wolves who hate this will only spread more problems for us, I understand you're frustrated, but wait until we're at home for you to vent. Okay?" His brows were knitted before his eyes turned back to blue before I nodded feeling him squeezing my hand.
"They'll find out soon, if anything we'll find an awesome way to announce the news to your family." He told me.
I blinked but smiled softly squeezing his hand.
"I'll leave it to you to find the awesome way then." I told him as he smirked looking at me.
"I'm thinking explosions-"
"Absolutely not." I laughed walking into the cafe.
"There they are." My eyes fell on Emmy first who was cradling her's and Colts baby, a little girl who they named Dixie.
She was fast asleep in her moms arms while Emmy smiled at the sight of us.
"We were wondering when you two were going to get here, how did the announcement go?" She asked.
I blinked before frowning.
"Oh, well it didn't exactly get to happen." I rubbed the side of my neck as Emmy frowned.
"What do you mean? What happened?" She asked frowning.
I looked at Joshua who looked at our friends in the room.
He frowned walking over to the table and let out a sigh.
"What I'm about to write down, don't think it or announce it, we already know about Crimson Sun acting out and this will only add fuel to the flame." He looked at the others who were frowning before Joshua wrote down what we found out at my moms house.
"Holy fucking shit, seriously?" Jackie was glaring at the news on the paper towel while looking at us, his blue eyes wide with slight anger.
"And they're keeping it?" He asked.
Joshua frowned at him.
"Yes Jackie, that's still their child, but we were told that's one of the reasons the two clans are acting out. Someone got the news to the two and now they're coming here." He said.
"So we're going to die, it's going to be exactly like at the church." Jayce stood there trembling with his green eyes jet black.
"Except these are actual clans coming here so there's no doubt we're not going to be shown mercy, for being involved with those two." He said.
"Okay easy," Stetson rubbed the others back.
"They're still our friends, the situation just isn't good.." He looked at Joshua frowning.
"How did Magna take it?" He asked.
Joshua only shrugged.
"I assume he's completely on board about his son being what he'll be, he showed his mate the most support a vampire could give which tells me, he's pretty serious about keeping the three of them safe." He said.
Emmy frowned softly.
"Was Moxie on board about it?" She questioned.
I frowned at her.
"I'm going to talk to him later tonight about how he reacted, based on the puffiness in his face, it was obvious he had been crying so I'm guessing he wasn't as thrilled knowing Iggy is.. that." I looked at Joshua who was frowning at me.
"But it's going to be fine, we're all going to be fine, Magna actually wanted me to relay a message to everyone here." He said.
Jackie and the others looked at him frowning.
"Which was?"
Joshua frowned at them.
"To basically be prepared to fight if it comes down to it, he didn't put it into words, but he wants us all to be cautious out on the streets and wants to make sure no one acts out." His eyes fell on Jayce, Ziggy and Rocky who were frowning deeply in his direction.
Jensen frowned.
"Magna thinks we're bound to act out?"
"Magna just wants us to act smart, we don't know when those clans are showing up and if they'll be in their pack or try to be smart about it by coming in one by one." Joshua explained.
"That would actually be them acting smarter, so the idea is to be one step ahead and not say the word you just showed us on the paper?" Jensen asked him.
Joshua nodded looking at them.
"None of us want to fight unless we're given no choice, and the last thing I want to do is put my own mate in harms way, especially over some petty clans who want to act out for a reaction." He said.
Colt frowned softly, his eyes on Emmy and his daughter before he sighed.
"I don't like the idea of waves of drama coming back into our town, I thought after those two bastards were put away we could actually start living our lives again, where we wouldn't have to fear over our children being brought into a world of blood and darkness." His eyes were on Dixie who was still sound asleep.
Emmy looked at her mate.
"It's like Joshua said, we'll be fine as long as we stay to ourselves and none of us act out towards the outsiders marching into our town." She looked down at their daughter.
"I don't want our children growing up in fear of either the vampires or wolves either, I wanted them to have a life where they could stay out after dark and we wouldn't have to stress over either race wanting to act out." She sighed softly carefully brushing her fingers through her daughters hair, she moved a little but stayed asleep.
"They will have that life." I found myself saying as I looked at the vampires in the room.
"This is just one of the many complications we're going to face because no matter where we go, it won't be perfect, there will always be some kind of drama waiting for us around the corner." I nibbled my lip.
"But maybe after those clans come here and when they can't find what they're looking for, it will make them leave and we can finally breathe again." I looked at Joshua who sighed softly but he managed to smile.
"We can only hope it will be that easy." He said looking at the others.
"Let's be sure to keep a low profile for now, as vampires we know how our race works and how smart they can really be, don't feed into anyone seeming like they're instigating for a fight or secrets. Be smarter than that person." Joshua frowned softly.
"I want our children to grow up together and in some years, maybe the stress we're all fixing to face will be something we'll turn back and laugh at, so please." He looked in Jensen's, Jackie's and Stetson's direction.
"Make sure your mates control the anger they feel between now and when those intruders arrive." He told them.
Jensen nodded with a frown.
"We will."
"Do you think we're going to be okay?" I asked him inside of the apartment Joshua was renting monthly while working at the mechanic shop.
Joshua put the steak on the skillet getting ready to cook it, his eyes on me.
"I think we're going to be more than okay, do you know why?" He asked me.
My brows knitted looking at him confused.
"No, why?" I asked him.
He smirked softly turning the burner on low as he walked over to me.
His hands falling on my hips as my arms hooked around his neck.
"Because no one is going to come into either of our towns uninvited thinking they're owed something, we're going to be more than fine because if we can deal with someone like Ace trying to run the roads, we can handle some moody vampires and wolves wanting to fight. You me, our daughter, Jensen and the others, your brother and Magna and our families will all be more than okay. Because we take no shit from some wannabe assholes." He smirked softly.
"Our daughter, your nephew's and nieces and our friends children will all get a normal life, they'll get to grow up happy and each of them will fall in love and never have to wonder what happened in the past, because we dealt with the monsters under their beds before they could even try to show up." He told me swaying to the nonexistent music as I looked up at him with so much love in my eyes.
"You've always been the type to see the better in things." I told him.
He smiled bringing me closer.
"Because I refuse to let that negativity take over and try to ruin things, we're going to be parents in four months Monty, we're going to have a little girl running around and breaking hearts because she's going to be as beautiful as you are to me." He told me.
My brows knitted before I pressed my forehead against his chest.
"So you think she'll be a heart breaker?"
"Oh I know she will be." He smirked softly holding me.
"She'll know what she wants and she'll go after it, and when it comes to graduating, going to college or just going in her own direction? That will be when she breaks my heart." Joshua rested his chin on my head looking ahead.
"Because letting your kid go so they can spread their own wings, is going to remind you they're no longer needing you to hold the brake for them. That they'll be okay." He said.
"Baby, you're depressing me and our unborn daughter and she's not even here yet." I told him pulling away with an arched brow.
Joshua smirked softly.
"Sorry, it's just new for me, I don't know if I'd be this deep if we were having a boy-"
"I would hope not." I joked grinning at him.
"You don't need to be deep right now, we still have four months to prepare for her to get here, and when she does? We'll have plenty of years to watch her grow, fall and rise each time. Whether she's a vampire or a wolf, she's going to be level headed and go after her dreams, even if that means leaving us behind."
"Okay now Monty, you're really depressing me and our unborn daughter." Joshua whined.
"I'm sorry!" I cried but laughed as he stepped away and walked back over to the stove to flip the steaks.
He was smiling softly while looking at me.
"Either way, we're going to be some bad ass parents, right?" He asked me.
I blinked but smiled softly leaning over the counter and looked at him.
"I think so, plus embarrassing?" I grinned.
He smirked.
"Definitely have to be embarrassing otherwise we're not parenting right, I will have to be that parent who drops her off at school yelling how awesome she is and how I'd see her after school." He said.
"That would embarrass me." I laughed.
Joshua grinned.
"Then I know it's a solid plan, it's just going to be weird not seeing our kids for eight hours five days a week." He sighed.
I made a face.
"What makes you think it won't be longer? If they all make friends or even get partners, they'll stay out longer, break curfew and even rebel." I told him.
Joshua was frowning deeply at me with this pouting look.
"Can she just, I don't know, not grow up then?" He asked me.
I grinned at him.
"Unfortunately that's not possible, babe."
Joshua groaned.
"She's not even here and I don't want her to grow up, baby she's going to meet boys!" Joshua whined.
My grin only grew.
"Uh huh, who's heart did you think she would be breaking when she got older?" I asked him.
He looked like a panicked mess now.
"Um, I don't know, a frogs maybe??"
I stared at the one I loved.
"A frog huh..?"
Joshua nodded
"Because there are plenty of those, and I wouldn't have to worry about kicking teenage boy ass if they hurt my precious daughter." He told me.
I smiled at him.
Yeah..
I think Joshua will fit the embarrassing parent role perfectly.
But that's okay.
Because we'll both still love this embarrassing man.
Even if he does over do it.
But that's what makes things more interesting.
Right?
