**Moxie**
It was hot.
Everything around me felt like it was burning.
And when my eyes shot open.
There was fire surrounding me in an open field.
The clouds were dark and you could hear angry shouting not very far from where I was, wherever that may be.
I pulled myself up to my feet, stumbling through the fire and smoke before I came to a stop at the top of the hill, looking down to nothing but absolute fear.
Vampires were fighting each other.
Wolves were fighting each other, and both races were fighting each other.
It was a blood bath.
Bodies were falling to the ground and there was the sound of saddened wailing on the opposite hill.
I looked past the races and my blood ran cold seeing the mates of the ones fighting, and the more I noticed them.
The more I soon came to realize.
It was Magna and the others fighting down there.
"No." My voice was almost a whisper as I ran down the hill, avoiding all that I could until I was in my mates eye view.
"Magna, you need to open your eyes!" I screamed at him as everyone continued to fight around us.
Fear was taking over because he wasn't listening to me.
He was driven to his own personal anger.
But why?
What was driving him this far?
"Magna, look at me, please look at me!" I begged him before letting out a sharp gasp being ripped backwards and dragged back up the hill I walked down.
"You don't want to interrupt our show do you? This is the favorite part." My blood ran ice cold seeing Church there grinning at the fight, his eyes locked right on my mate.
"This is what I had planned the day we burned that church down, a fight to prove that no one is equal." He said as my heart raced against my chest.
"But why can't we be? What's so wrong living on equal grounds?!"
"BECAUSE ITS WRONG AND YOU KNOW IT!" Church growled in my face and it caused everyone who was fighting to stop and look in our direction.
Even the mates were looking at us now.
"Wolves and vampires living happily on the same street? Gimme a fucking break, the only reason any of this is happening now, is because you were a spoiled brat who wanted things to go his way, so you acted out and got with a vampire. This fight? It's because of you, those lives that have been lost? Is because of you." He growled lowly.
"You are the reason why things are going down hill, you are going to be the reason why that mate of yours plus those friends of his, will die." He snapped his fingers and soon enough.
These pained cries rang out and everything went numb seeing my brothers mate, Joshua falling to his knees with a stake in his chest, this confused expression on his face as he looked in my direction before turning to ash.
"Stop it." Tears slipped.
"Stop what?" Church smirked.
"This is all you baby, killing the innocent because you're so fucking selfish." He grinned looking at the field as the vampires soon began dropping one by one.
And each time someone died.
A mate's pained screams rang out before they too, turned to ash.
The last ones standing were Magna and Mistral, back to back and just as Magna went to turn.
I watched my brother drive a stake into my mates heart and I could feel my own heart beat slowing down watching Magna standing there.
His eyes were wide with shock looking at Mistral, who's attention turned to me and Church.
"I'm sorry Moxie, when it comes down to it, I'll choose myself." He told me stepping back.
"No." I got to my feet and was running down the hill.
"NO!" I screamed running up to Magna who held me close as the tears streamed down my cheeks.
"Magna, don't go." I begged him as he finally looked at me.
The color in his eyes were fading as he frowned.
"I'm sorry, Moxie..." He turned to ash in my hands as I stood there taking in what happened, my heart beat going faster before I dropped to my knees.
And let out the most saddest screams my body would let me.
"MAGNA COME BACK!" I begged to the cloudy sky.
"Magna!" I screamed sitting up fast drenched in sweat before I heard a loud thud connecting to the bedroom floor.
"What is it? Is the baby coming?!" Magna looked half awake but also alarmed while looking at me.
I sat there crying while looking at him and suddenly, he became more awake and his brows were knitting.
"Another nightmare?" He questioned inside of the bathroom as I sat inside of the bathtub, the warm water making me feel more awake as I tried to stop myself from crying anymore this morning.
It wasn't even six thirty yet and I was wrecking both of our sleep schedules.
I wanted to bring my knees to my chest but I couldn't as my brows knitted and more tears welled up.
I just nodded looking at the other.
Magna let out a soft sigh looking at me.
"Mox, we've been over this, they're just nightmares." He told me as I looked at him.
"I know that," the tears slipped.
"But they feel real each time." I looked away as I placed my hands on my legs, keeping them there.
"What was this dream about?" He asked me.
My heart began to race as I stared at the water.
"The fight that's coming our way, all of the vampires.." Tears fell as my body began to ache.
"They were killed because of me," I looked at him with pain in my eyes.
"You were killed, because of me." Tears slipped as his brows knitted.
"Moxie, none of this is because of you, so don't think like that. This fight that is coming our way? We'll find a way to deal with it that won't involve anyone having to die over it." He reached over and brushed the tears away looking at me.
"So breathe for me and we'll be okay." He told me.
I forced a smile going to breathe but instead, a sharp pain greeted me instead causing my body to twist as I let out a pained cry.
"Moxie?!"
"Something's wrong." I cried as he pulled me out of the tub.
"What hurts?" He frowned deeply.
"My stomach, Magna, get me to the hospital." I told him with panicked eyes.
He looked alarmed but nodded grabbing the bathrobe, wrapping it around me before racing us to the car.
"Your early but the baby is already trying to come out." The doctor told me as I laid in the hospital bed.
My blood was cold looking at him.
"But I still have two months, isn't this too soon for him to try to come out?" I cried laying there.
The doctor shook his head.
"Not necessarily Mr.Ellison, if you were a human being, I would say otherwise. But because you are an omega, it's normal to give birth a month or two early, now if it was three or four months early? I would be strongly against it and you would be hospitalized until we could keep the contractions from starting, the pains you're experiencing are just your son trying to come out to meet his parents." The doctor explained.
I looked at him.
"So nothing will be wrong if I delivery early?" I asked him.
The doctor shook his head with a smile.
"He may be smaller than the other kids, but other than that, your son will be perfectly healthy." He told me.
I looked at Magna who was smiling at me.
"I'll call your mom then mine, after that I'll call the others and let them know." He told me kissing me quick as I lied there with a soft smile.
"Okay." I said watching him smile before stepping out of the room.
I was alone as I listened to the monitor beeping.
"So you're ready to come out two months early huh?
It's bad timing, like real bad timing.
But..
Maybe once you're here, things won't stress me out as much.
I'm just ready to hold you, to see what your dad and I created.
Just so you know.
We're both equally bad cookers, so when you get older.
Don't expect anything fancy." I smiled softly resting my hands on my stomach, feeling him kicking in response.
I yawned softly before feeling my eyelids growing heavy.
Scared to sleep I battled it as much as I could.
Before losing the battle, and dozed off.
"He's still having nightmares?" I could hear voices inside of the room as I fought the urge to wake up, I felt myself yawning before my eyes slowly opened, seeing my mom and Zoe in the room.
"Hi baby." My mom greeted me with a kiss on the forehead as she looked at me.
"How are you feeling?" She asked.
I looked at her.
"Tired and hungry." I confessed with a laugh which made the two of them smile.
Zoe looked at me.
"Magna mentioned you were still having nightmares, did the milk trick not work?" She asked me.
I frowned looking at her.
"No, but maybe when Iggy gets here, I won't have as many nightmares." I told her.
Zoe frowned but she nodded, her eyes on my stomach before she smiled softly.
"Evie tried to delivery two months early as well, but Cricket I guess wasn't ready to face the world just yet." She grinned.
"But of course, your son is ready, I can't wait to meet him." She smiled looking at me.
I smiled at her.
"You and me both, it may be tomorrow before he's here though, the doctor said its possible Iggy could be born today. It just depends on the when though." I told them.
Zoe nodded with crossed arms, her eyes on our mom then on me.
"Well we will definitely be in and out visiting you until Iggy is born, there's a handful of us in the waiting room waiting to see you." She told me with a smile.
I nodded with a smile looking at my mom who was smiling at me.
"We'll see you in a bit, baby." She said opening the door as a male nurse walked in.
"Ladies." He greeted them with a warm smile with his eyes locked on me.
Zoe and my mom greeted him with a smile.
"We'll send Magna in when he gets back from the cafeteria." Zoe told me.
I nodded watching them walk out, leaving me alone with the nurse.
"How are we feeling, Mr.Ellison?" The nurse questioned looking at the clipboard then at the monitors.
I looked at the black haired male with gray eyes looking at the charts.
"Tired, are you going to be my nurse until my son is here?"
The male nodded with a smile.
"I sure am, hope that's alright with you, my name is Sun Cline." He told me and I tried not to make a face at the name.
"That's alright, you're just here to do your job, right?" I asked him.
He studied me for a minute before he smiled.
"That's right." He agreed.
There was silence.
"The doctor did run it by me that this pregnancy is a special case, is that right?" He questioned.
I frowned but nodded.
"It's definitely special, I didn't think he'd tell anyone else, isn't that supposed to be confidential?" I frowned.
Sun nodded.
"It is but because I'm your nurse, he wanted to at least give me a heads up on what we'll be delivering." He told me.
I frowned softly looking away from him now.
"I don't agree with that, but I guess you're doing your jobs, so I shouldn't complain too much." I frowned.
Sun smiled softly.
"I apologize on both of our behalf's for making you feel slightly uncomfortable with sharing your personal information, but the news is great isn't it? Your carrying an-"
"Eve?" I frowned at him.
Sun smiled at me.
"Yes, an eve, you know not many omega's give birth to such rare beings." He told me.
I looked at him.
"Yeah well, not many omega's are mated to a vampire either." I shrugged.
Sun studied me before he smiled.
"And what relationship is that like? I've honestly never seen opposite races together, how did you two turn heads and make it possible?" He asked me.
I looked at him.
"I guess by not caring as much, with him.. Things are different and not as expected as they would be when it comes to being with an alpha." I told him.
Sun nodded.
"I can see that would make sense, so are you happier with a vampire?" He asked me.
I was quick to nod with a soft smile now.
"I am, my personal life before I met him was more full of drama and at the time I thought I was Ace's son-"
"Ace? As in Ace Ellison the man who is in prison?" Sun interrupted with a curious expression.
I frowned at him but nodded.
I think he caught on he was being a bit more nosy before he was clearing his throat and gripped the clipboard.
Sun smiled.
"I'll check in on you again soon, Moxie, would you like for me to send some guests in?" He offered.
I nodded with a smile.
"Please." I told him.
Sun nodded stepping out of the room and left me alone so I could breathe.
**Unknown Pov**
He walked out of the room and studied the forged badge on his chest that listed his name and the title he forged onto it.
If anyone were to find out he was posing as a nurse, this would only ignite things faster than his boss would want.
So he knew he would have to play it cool for now, just until the baby was born.
But now that it's been confirmed.
He could move forward and at least let the clan know.
Their assumptions were correct.
He walked into the waiting room with a smile looking at the happy family that would soon fall to despair.
"He's wanting to see whoever would like to go next." He announced through a fake happy tone looking at the mixture of wolf and vampire races inside of the room looking at him.
"Can we see him?" He looked to the vampire with soft blond hair and green eyes, he was looking at the other blond with green eyes as well, who's eyes were piercing into Sun like blades.
"Go ahead."
Sun looked over his shoulder at the brunet who walked into the room, he smelled like Moxie so this must be the mate he mentioned earlier.
The smaller blond seemed excited before he was pulling on the others hand and heading out of the room.
Sun went to turn but was only met with the brunet's green eyes.
"How was he doing in there?" He asked him.
Sun smiled.
"He's doing great, anxious but ready for your son to be here." He told him.
The brunet only nodded stepping past Sun who's eyes darkened a little but he smiled to cover up the annoyance.
"If you'll excuse me." Sun said stepping out of the room and headed towards the exit doors.
"I have news to report to my boss."
