Marvel Story: X-Men First Class

Chapter #5

Following their training exercise Storm and Kitty hear something going on upstairs. They exchange shared looks of concern as they help their friends up. Everyone feels the foundation of the building shake.

"What the hell is that?" Kitty asks Storm starting to grow more worried.

"I don't know... but the students upstairs will need our help." Storm says leading the group upstairs.

Jean and Rogue split up, each taking half the group. Jubilee goes with Jeans group while Blink follows Rogues group. Siryn stays with Storm and Kitty as they run after the noise.

Kitty, Storm, and Siryn run into Colossus and Iceman; Bobby Drake. The girls ask what is going on and Colossus tells them that the school is under attack. Siryn covers her mouth in terror.

All of a sudden the group of X-Men see Black Cat, Emma Frost, Mystique, and Polaris. Emma Frost stays in the back as Mystique and Polaris stand in-front of the White Queen. Black Cat reluctantly joins in between Mystique and Polaris. "Checkmate." Emma says boldly.

The White Queens pawns go to work with Mystique leaping over Colossus before taking out Iceman with a swift roundhouse kick. Polaris brings Colossus to his knees with her electromagnetic mutant abilities. "No, don't hurt him!" Screams Kitty desperately.

Felicias eyes widen at the sudden display of Lornas powers. "Take it easy, aye?" Black Cat says to Polaris.

Just then Mystique grabs Siryn pointing a pistol to her head. Storms eyes glow a blinding white light as the air in the room begins to howl and grow colder. Kitty shivers as Felicia gasps. "You said no one would get hurt..." Black Cat says to Emma Frost.

"I'm paying you to do a job... so do it!" The White Queen yells coldly.

Black Cat sighs softly before leaping into action. Felicias eyes narrow on Storm but she has to get past Shadowcat. Black Cat fires her grappling hook into the ceiling, swinging forward down the hall attempting to kick Kitty as she passes by. Shadowcat phases through the attack, grabbing Felicia and pulling her out of the air. Kitty growls as she throws Black Cat into the hallway wall.

Storm summons a gust of cold wind that knocks the gun out of Mystiques hand. Ororo quickly covers her ears and yells for Kitty to do the same thing. Shadowcat covers her ears as Siryn lets out a sonic scream that shatters the windows sending glass flying around the hallway of the mansion. Kitty runs over to Ororo and grabs her using her phasing ability to save them from the flying glass. The sonic scream makes Polaris lose concentration on Colossus and he stands up grabbing Lorna by the throat.

Emma's skin shifts to that of a sparkling diamond as she sends Colossus flying down the hallway with a palm strike to the chest. Polaris falls to the ground as Colossus drops her, gasping for air. The metallic man crashes into Siryn as she attempts to run down the hall.

Iceman gets up as Emma skin changes back to normal. Bobby screams out in pain as the White Queen infiltrates his mind. Kitty cries out for her friend but Black Cat trips her by grabbing her ankle. Mystique kicks Storm into a wall and Ororo response with a wicked lightning bolt that sends Raven to the ground. Shadowcat rolls over kicking Felicia across the face before getting up and running towards her friend Bobby.

Kitty phases through Polaris and tackles Emma Frost to the ground. Shadowcat prepares to punch the White Queen but her skin turns into a diamond like substance. Knowing it'll only hurt herself she gets up and helps Bobby over to Storm.

Black Cat and Mystique rejoin Emma Frost and Polaris as the good guys regroup as well. Colossus picks up the unconscious Siryn and leads them down them after Bobby creates a wall of ice to separate them from the villains. Emma chuckles as she speaks to everyone in the building telepathically. "You can run but you can't hide forever..." Says the White Queen.

Kitty helps Bobby as Storm opens up a secret passage way. They escape from underground to the back of the mansion where everyone else is. Everyone boards the X-Men's team jet the Blackbird and escape as Storm gives them cover in the form of a smoke cloud.

Jean and Rogue ask Storm what happened and Kitty explains while Ororo focuses on flying the jet. Colossus comforts Kitty after handing over Siryn to be taken care of by her friends Blink and Jubilee. Bobby finds himself in a corner alone. Another male student named Simon Lasker grabs ahold of his hand. Frozen tears in his eyes Bobby cuddles into his shoulder and Simon just holds him in his warm arms comfortingly.
