"Where are you headed now?" Callista asked

"Where are you headed now?" Callista asked. Cameron could hear a commotion in the background; Callista must've still been at the restaurant. It was around six, so the dinner rush was just starting. Cameron knew that Callista would need to get off of the phone soon so that she could continue to prepare her staff and the kitchen.

"The gym," Cameron said. "I haven't been in a while and I need to start back up again. Work's been killing me lately and Bolt will kill me if he comes home and finds out I've been slacking."

"Okay," Callista said with a chuckle. "Let me know when you're leaving."

"Will do. Love you, Ma."

"Love you too, baby."

Cameron hung up as she walked into the gym. Her day had gone by quickly and she was able to leave early, so she decided to go to the gym as she hadn't been since before she started at Ansen. She'd made it a goal with her best friend, Bolt, to continue a healthy lifestyle so that she could join him in a marathon in the future.

As she looked around, she saw that everything was still the same: the members, the staff, the set-up. Of course, things couldn't have changed much in the couple of weeks that she'd slacked off.

After placing her most important items in a locker, she found an empty area and unfurled her yoga mat, placing it gently on the ground. Then, she started to stretch. It'd been a long time since she'd stretched, so she didn't do as intensive a routine as usual. Once she'd completed that and was sufficiently warmed up, she cleaned up her area, rolled up her mat, walked over to a treadmill, and started out walking.

While she walked, her mind drifted to the events from just a few hours before. She hadn't told anyone and had placated Gabriel's worried glances by lying and saying that she'd forgotten to send an important, time-sensitive email to one of the consultants that Ansen employed. She hadn't wanted anyone to worry about her and kept her head down, continuing to do research and create reports.

Cameron sighed and adjusted the treadmill so that she could move into a light jog. What a way to meet Elliot, she thought. Yes, the man was attractive, but she had to meet him at the worst possible time. The woman he was speaking to must've been his ex, and their relationship might have ended badly, which might have been why the woman was at Ansen.

But Cameron wouldn't know, and she wasn't trying to find out. Elliot may have been nice to look at, but with what had happened, there was no way she was going to even get close to him. Might as well throw that idea out the window and keep it moving. First impressions were important and she'd ruined that.

She paused to take a sip of water after a few minutes of jogging and wiped the sweat from her forehead. She shouldn't be worrying about it, but it was all she could think about. There would be times that she might have to communicate with Elliot about things that Selene might need from him and by being in proximity to something she wasn't privy to, she was possibly ruining a work relationship. She took a deep breath and stood up, taking another swig of water. When she absently looked around, she almost choked.
