Cameron turned off the video recorder as Selene ended the meeting, her mind definitely not on whatever was on today's agenda. Her day hadn't started off great. First, she'd overslept and wasn't able to do the look she'd planned—she'd actually left the house with a bare face. Then, her car wouldn't start and she'd had to catch a ride with Nicole, who had to be at her office by nine-thirty and so had to leave early so that she could drop off her daughter. With almost 400,000 miles on it, Cameron knew that her car was on its last legs, but those issues had been kept at bay until this morning. Following that, she'd been unable to eat breakfast, nearly ran into Elliot holding a hot cup of coffee, and was late for the daily meeting. She recorded the meeting because she knew she'd remember absolutely nothing.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Phillipa asked as the two walked to their cubicles. Phillipa sat in the cubicle on Cameron's left side, while Gabe sat on her right. Gabe was the person she usually spoke to, as they were closer in age and had more in common. Phillipa, on the other hand, was more soft-spoken and quiet. Though Cameron wanted to be friends with them, she found it hard to approach Phillipa and was intimidated.

Cameron gave a weary smile. "Just having a rough day today," she replied. "It started off horrible and now I can't seem to focus."

Phillipa gave a light chuckle. "I know how that is." They checked their watch. "After today's meeting with Devika, do you want to grab lunch with Alyssa and I? We were thinking about going to the new Mexican place that opened up."

Cameron smiled. "Definitely," she said. She glanced at the clock. It was half-past nine and their weekly staff meeting with A Team and Devika would be at ten. She made sure to save her video so that she could transcribe it into cohesive notes later. She knew that with everyone talking at once,  everything will be a mess.

"Cameron," Selene called out.

"Go see her," Phillipa said, smiling. They turned to their desktop. "I'm going to work on some copy until it's time for the meeting."

Cameron smiled as she grabbed her tablet once again and headed to Selene's cubicle.

For as long as she'd worked at Ansen, Cameron had only seen Selene's cubicle a couple of times. And those couple of times were awe-inspiring every time. If you could imagine the most aesthetically pleasing, artsy office area, then you'd get Selene's cubicle. A vision board covered one wall, while Selene had hung a tarot tapestry on the opposite wall. The third wall of the cubicle was bare. Her office supplies were all royal blue and gold, tying the tapestry and vision board together.

Cameron could only hope her cubicle could eventually be as pretty as Selene's.

Selene gestured to a chair that was opposite her. Cameron sat and waited.

"I'm going to make this quick," Selene said. "You're going to make the announcements for B Team."

Cameron nearly dropped her tablet. "W-What?" she sputtered. "Selene, that's impossible. I don't—"
