Luna's POV
July 28th
3:20 pm
It was getting old.
Me waiting on people to show up. Left looking like an idiot when they didn't.
Maybe I was an idiot.
The door to the café swung open and I looked up from my cappuccino.
I rubbed my hands on my bare thighs, feeling suddenly nervous.
I saw him. He looked around the café for me and finally we made eye contact. I didn't bother to wave, I just half-smiled.
He made his way over to my table in the corner by the window and sat down across from me.
"Hi."
"Hi, Leo."
I could see the uneasiness in his expression. Like he wasn't sure if I was going to curse him out or not.
That's not what this was about. I needed closure and I realized I wasn't really going to move on until I had the answers that I needed. So I called him and told him to meet me at the Maybe Happily Café.
So far I hadn't seen Gen working or any of my friends passing through. Maya was on bed rest for the next few weeks before she went into labor and I was grateful. After last night, I was positive that no one wanted me to meet up with Leo. We hadn't completely ruled him out as being involved in me being thrown into a supply closet or not.
Maybe it was ill-advised, but I needed to get this over with.
"Go ahead, start." I crossed my arms and sat back in my seat.
He wouldn't look into my eyes but rather at the wall behind me. It was littered with Casey's art in frames and some random pictures of all of us. He'd seen it all before.
He cleared his throat and finally met my eyes with a soft look in his. "How are you?"
It took me a moment to respond. His piercing blues eyes looked sincere and warm, liked I'd always known them to be. Maybe a month ago my heart would've warmed at those words.
"Oh, he still cares about me?" I would've thought.
But now I simply felt nothingness. There was a familiarity with him that I couldn't ignore, but that would always be there.
"Let's not waste each other's time." I blinked at him. "You said you wanted to talk, so talk."
My tone made him uncomfortable. I could tell by the way he knitted both of his hands on the table and surveyed my face, that he didn't like this. He fiddled with his thumb, looking down at his hands.
"I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for how everything went down." He looked back up at me with hope in his eyes. "I should've told you I was leaving and about Mindy."
The sound of her name reminded me of the stupid Instagram post.
"Why?" I asked, looking at him with a pained expression. "Why would you--"
"Because we were drifting and..." He blinked, swallowing hard. "I didn't mean for things to happen, okay?"
"Oh so you mean, you didn't mean to cheat on me?" I said with a raised brow and a cold laugh. "It was an accident?"
He looked around briefly, seemingly embarrassed that I said that somewhat loudly.
"I--" He rubbed his forehead and hunched his shoulders, leaning in closer across the table.

RomanceHis brows furrowed in frustration. "You keep tensing up and it's making me lose my grip." I was tensing up because I didn't trust him. It didn't take a genius to know that. I hadn't been used to falling in a while. "You need to relax." He said looki...
