Jax's outfit
Jax's POV
I was fully stretched when I noticed the office door opening and everyone filing out.It didn't take a genius to know that they were probably talking about me. Seeing me here probably raised a lot of questions.
The question I had was, where was Leo Evans?
I'd known him to be Luna's dance partner for years now. He wouldn't just up and leave.
And based on the expression she wore earlier, something told me she just found out.
"Welcome to the WDC. I'm happy to hear that you're joining the team." A short blond woman came up to me and I reached out my hand to shake hers.
I think her name was Kate or something. I knew she was the owner.
Mrs. Hemington nodded to her. "He'll be a great addition to the team, I'm sure. Do you mind if I speak to you for a moment, Kate?"
Kate seemed taken aback by this, smiling politely. "Yeah, let's talk in my office."
They both walked away together and I reached for my duffel bag. Pulling on my socks, I sat on the floor.
I heard the sound of someone's voice clearing and I looked up.
A familiar girl looked at me. She had freckles and bright red hair. I'd seen her at competitions before. Her arms were crossed and behind her stood two guys who were eyeing me curiously. One was Black and the other was Asian.
They all looked me up and down and I stood up, rubbing the back of my neck nervously.
I hadn't thought that far beyond the audition and now that I was officially on the team, I wasn't sure what to say.
"Hi, I'm--"
"We know who you are." The girl said. She didn't look as annoyed as she sounded. In fact, I think she was almost excited in some way.
"The real question is, what are you doing here?" The Asian guy with a skateboard in his hand asked.
"Uhh---"
"Guys!" Another blond girl showed up behind them. She gave them knowing looks and said through gritted teeth. "We're supposed to be welcoming." She turned back to me with a smile. "Hi, I'm Gen."
