Summary : Louis was Harry's first kiss but Louis doesn't count it as a kiss, so Harry wants to redo it.

-

Or the one where Louis is clueless and in love, Harry likes to make out with Louis, Niall stays over for dinner, Liam has a pool at his house, and Zayn just wants Louis to be okay.

___

The first time Louis and Harry really kissed was at Liam’s house after they went swimming.

“You can’t do that!”

An annoyed groan left Louis’ lips as he turned around to face an annoyed-looking Zayn, the beach ball landing in the water with a bit of a splash. The sun beamed down on their faces, the heat on his shoulders and chest contrasting with the cold feeling from the rest of his body below the water.

July was Louis’ least favorite month. He couldn't stand the heat, the stupid bugs, and the feeling of not knowing what to do with himself since school was out. He figured he should cherish it, though. He would be leaving for his third year of college in August, so he might as well have some fun with his friends and spend time with his family.

And that’s exactly what they were doing: playing volleyball in Liam’s pool on a scorching hot summer day in the middle of fucking July. But apparently Louis wasn't playing by the rules, as he assumed from the look that Zayn was giving him.

“I can’t do what?” Louis raised an eyebrow, ignoring Niall climbing out of the pool just to belly flop into it again, earning a loud yelp of laughter from Harry and Liam.

“If you’re in the front line, you’re not supposed to serve the ball. It has to be from the back left-”

“Zayn, babes, we don’t have enough people to do that,” Louis cut him off with a dramatic sigh, looking at him with his head slightly tilted.

Zayn sighed, crossing his arms. “You suck at this game anyway,” he mumbled, and Louis couldn’t help but snort at him.

“Not everybody knows how to play volleyball. Besides, Louis sucks at it anyway, he’s captain of the footie team, remember,” Harry’s teasing voice came from behind Louis, and he scoffed, turning his head to glare at him before flipping him off.

“Oh yeah,” Liam snorted. “Captain Tommo-”

“I will literally drown you, you shit, shut up,” Louis splashed Liam dramatically, trying to bite back his laugh.

“Harry insulted you first!”

Louis snorted. “I like him better than I like you, Payno, I thought we knew this?” he winked playfully, a smile spreading across his lips as Harry came up behind him and wrapped his arms around his neck from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder. Louis felt his stomach do a tiny flip, his hands coming to rest on Harry’s forearms. He hated the heat outside and normally hated when people touched him when he was already hot and sweaty, but Harry was the exception.

He always was the exception. The exception for anything, really. If he wasn’t in the mood to talk to people, Harry didn’t technically count as “people”. He was always in the mood for Harry. If he was angry and snapping at people, he didn’t yell at Harry. He didn’t really have it in him to yell at Harry.

Harry was his person, he was there for him for everything. Louis couldn’t have asked for a better best friend.

“You two disgust me,” Niall muttered, throwing the beach ball at Louis’ head. Louis caught it with his left hand, roughly chucking it back at Niall’s face before he had the time to dodge it, earning a yell.
