"C'mon, it'll be fun" Charles begs, grabbing her leg not letting her walk around the boat, he hugged her really tightly even.

"For the hundred time, no!" Ilaria yells at him, taking a chunk of his hair trying to get rid of him so he would let her work.

"Please. I miss my good luck charm with me" he groaned while she yanked his head away, earning a laugh from her watching as he struggled.

"No"

"Ilaria! Please" He still begged, falling backwards and laying on the floor. "When was the last time you watched a race? I know the love for the sport is still there... somewhere"

"I can't. I really can't."

"And why not?"

Why not? A good question she doesn't want to answer because she doesn't know how.

Sure maybe there's the trauma of watching her mother and brother die because of the excessive speed, but lately she's gotten back to her obsession of cars.

Drive to survive on Netflix didn't help.

She watched everything in under two weeks, and proceeding to watch every interview and video possible of the Formula One drivers. She also watched the races the internet told her are worth watching, she did not complain at all. She watched every YouTube video and read every article possible, even going as far as looking for books of Formula 1.

But she can't tell him that, Charles will know she has become obsessed with fast cars once again and he'll make sure to bring her everywhere with him. As much as she would like that, the idea of finding a job is still very much present in her mind.

"Listen, it'll just one weekend. I pay for everything, I'll even take you shopping so you'll look good in the paddock"

"What's wrong with my clothes" she looks down to her outfit, a simple tight white shirt and a blue skirt with hawaiian flowers patterns.

"You look like you grew up at the beach"

"Did I not?"

"Yes, but everyone at the paddock dresses elegantly"

"So you want me to change?"

"No—yes. I mean-"

"I don't need new clothes" she sighs, continuing to try and turn on the boat. "You're the one that doesn't know how to dress"

"I do know!"

"Look at that shirt," she grabs the ugly flower pattern he was using, "Horrendous"

She laughed at his offended face before turning back to the task of turning it on. Finally after a few tries the boat ran to life and she smiled like a little girl. "Would you like to go for a ride?"

"This isn't ours" Charles said already standing behind the wheel, "let us free!" He motioned to the cord holding the boat in place at the dock, Ilaria instantly went to loosen it and before she could even sit down Charles was pulling away fast.

"So does that mean you'll go?" He shouts back at her after they were officially at open sea.

Ilaria's hair was already a tangle mess and her face felt all salty but none of it matters because she loves the feeling of going fast through the waves.

"Which grand prix is it?" She knows it's the Italian. Monza quickly became one of her favorites after watching all the replays late at night but she is too stubborn to agree so fast to something she swore she would never go to again.

"Italy" he shouted back with so much excitement now Ilaria feels like she can't say no. "You'll love it. I know it"
