How dare I say no to that?

It was barely after eleven when he escaped from his parents and their questions. Especially Miri, who still did not know why and who you can date as an "adult", even the principle of date itself was incomprehensible to her. Jisung blamed his uptight parents.

In any case, he was now lying in his bed. He scrolled listlessly on his decade-old laptop, looking for a series to watch. A loud sigh flew through the room, followed by annoyed rolling around in the covers because his position had become uncomfortable.

You'd think God would have heard his prayers for a break because a message rang in with a soft ping! Seconds later, he had his face practically pressed to his phone as he stared at the message banner with wide, eager eyes. "Lee Minho ;>" sent you a message.

Jisung hadn't expected anyone else. And yet, his heartbeat was a tiny bit faster when he opened Whatsapp.

(jisung | minho)

Lee Minho ;>

"Hi hi, how are you?"

" Heyyy~ I'm just like the last time we saw each other XD"

Jisung chuckled (at his simply unfunny text) and rolled over in his bed again.

"Don't people usually ask how I'm doing then?"

"Mr. Lee, how have you been the rest of the day?"

"Well if you ask so my dear Mr.Han, my day was very pleasant."

And so the two wrote for quite a while, not really a serious conversation. And the content varied more from what they had for dinner, why Italian cuisine was the best, the exciting question of why cat food looked and sometimes smelled like you could eat it, as well as Jisung's fascinating coming-out story.

Minho had sent him a picture of Soonie on his lap after nothing came from either side for a while.

Maybe Jisung looked a little too long.

Maybe he had saved it in his gallery.

And maybe his imagination took a short trip and imagined what it would be like to take Soonie's place. It was late.

No one could blame him. It was human to desire physical contact... wasn't it? By overthinking, Jisung had forgotten to answer. So another message from Minho followed.

"Do you have time, I'm bored, let's call :>"

And before Jisung could type his reply, the call popped up on his screen. With a roll of his eyes, he pressed the green button.

"Minho, at least let me answer it," he fake-cried into his phone hearing airy laughter from the other side of the line. "Don't worry, I won't steal much of your time, after that you can answer me in peace." Jisung could almost hear the wink through the phone. His words caused his body heat to shift into his head as it often does today. He pretended they weren't affecting him,  Minho couldn't see him either way.

"Shoot, what's on your mind?" There was the, poorly authenticated undertone in his voice. Jisung wanted to throw himself against the nearest wall, so much did he hate his own words that were now spinning around in his head.

"You know the skating rink around here?"

"Mhm..."

"Wednesday is the last day before they close for the summer session..." Jisung thought he had misheard.

"Do you want to go there with me? Ice skate?" Jisung was completely perplexed. "S-sure, haha," The uncertainty in his laugh came with on top of the pile of the other stuff from the last five minutes. "I can't skate though..."

"I'll teach you, it's not hard actually!" Jisung smiled. No, you couldn't call that a smile anymore. The corners of his mouth lifted so much it almost hurt. "Well then, I guess that's a plan." He nodded to himself to confirm his words. "I'm off on Wednesdays anyway."

"Meet you at the train station?"

"Yeah sure..." Little did he know, that Minho was grinning just a much as he was.

"Do you know those scenes from aesthetic romantic movies, where they talk through an old phone and their voices sound like you could listen to them all day?" Jisung blurred out.

"Yeah...why?" It came from the other line, the little scratches from the poor quality of Minho's mic making his voice have the "vintage touch" he meant.

"Because you sound like that right now, maybe even better..." Jisung mumbled the last part, embarrassed by his own compliment.

Minho giggled. "Thank you very much, I appreciate that. Yours sounds better to me though."

Jisung was about to stutter an answer when his door burst open. "JISONG!!! MY LEGO SET BROKE IT'S YOUR FAULT"

"Minho, my sister's about to kill me, so I'll see you around, okay?!"

"JJJIIISOOOONNNGGG!!!" Loud laughter was the last thing he heard from Minho before he hung up and ran to safety from the flying Lego pieces.
