Face my fears, for us
It was probably the first time that a glum mood prevailed in their house. But it was bad. As if all the walls around them were closing in and the ceiling was falling on their heads.
Minho sipped his coffee, but couldn't drink it. Jisung did the same. He had been busy eating a single cookie for five minutes. And it wasn't even halfway up. It had been weeks since the incident.
And maybe it was the first time that the two of them had argued. If you could call it arguing. They hadn't yelled at each other. But every time Minho tried to get at Jisung and start the conversation, Jisung blocked and kept quiet. Basically, he gave Minho the cold shoulder. For no reason. It was stupid. And depressing.
Whatever it was, it weighed on Minho, because of course he thought it was his fault. That was the only logical explanation. And if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter, because Jisung wouldn't come out with it. But Minho didn't want to force him to tell him about it. Although... actually he did. He hated it.
Everything was normal. They worked, they had their daily routine, and they fell asleep in each other's arms.
But this huge problem was running behind them like a huge heavy shadow. It sat on Minho's head when he was with his co-workers and he couldn't concentrate.
The shadow crept into Jisung's mind. He had to deal with it. He knew that himself. It wasn't that he didn't want to tell Minho or anything else. He was just afraid.
As if he would come jumping out of the next bush, the second he started talking about it.
But it hurt. It was like those couples in movies and series who were about to break up. The ones who just kept quiet and did nothing. Minho and he barely talked.
And this time, Jisung really had to take the blame for it. It was his fault.
He sat in his chair and let the person on the line talk in one ear and their words fly out the other. That's when Jisung had the long-overdue epiphany, the courage. If he didn't tell Minho, they would go their separate ways... Jisung would do everything in his power to make sure that didn't happen.
He simply hung up on the person. He logged out of his profile in a hurry and turned off his computer. Then he picked up his cell phone.

"When are you coming?"
"On my way."
Jisung exhaled loudly and looked out the window for a moment. It's today or never...
He put on something nice and made sure the cats had everything they needed. He was refilling water when the front door opened. "Minho?" He called from the kitchen and put the bowl on the floor. "Yes?" Minho yelled back from the hallway.
Jisung slid over to him on his socks. "Keep your shoes on, I was going to take you for a walk..." Minho faltered and gave Jisung a skeptical look. But when Jisung put on shoes as well, his features softened. Minho locked the door behind them.
