Home sweet home... i guess
"Exactly Misses, now just press track payment and then you should see if the money has arrived by now." Jisung smiled a salesman's smile. The older lady on the other line took a few more moments before confirming that she had managed to get it.
Jisung bid her farewell and pressed the appropriate button on his headset to end the call.
"God damn..." He rubbed at his eyes. With a groan, he stretched back over the back of his chair, it protesting loudly.
Thursday at noon. It's day 23 at the home office.
Jisung didn't know what to hate more, that his boss was checking his hours on his computer, that there was a big Eminem poster above his desk staring back at him, or that he was now keeping a tally of the problems that people were bringing down on him.
The headset (an earbud with a microphone and some cool buttons) still active, he trudged down to the kitchen. Jisung climbed over a train and kicked away a small tennis ball. "Mom do we have any Zero Coke left?" He called across the house, his head buried deep in the fridge. "Check the pantry!" Came back from the living room.
Finding the drink, Jisung planted himself on the couch, next to his mother. "Hello Jisung ..." She blew a slightly grayish strand off her forehead. Jisung just watched her for a while. Sitting on her lap was Miri, the pride and joy of the Han family.
Miri had just turned seven a few weeks ago and was the princess on the pea. Wearing her fairy costume, from which she would prefer not to part even for a bath, she terrorized her mother. Thousands of plushies surrounded the poor woman. Miri introduced each one of them, to the full program.
Mr. Beans, the fat orange cat- who worked as a model at Vogue.
Skimpy, an unemployed frog (she had ripped his clothes to fit his image). And so on and on.
Jisung had gone through the same ordeal just the day before yesterday. He just gave his mother a sympathetic look. About to open her mouth to say something, it beeped in his ear. "I have to get to it Mom, love you."
Coke in hand, he sprinted up from his seat and into his room. Only then did he press the button that put the customer through to his line. "Customer service from KOB, their Korean online banking, what can I do for you?"
"Well, first of all, I think it's a total mess that I had to be on hold for ten full minutes, and also..." Jisung went into standby mode. The same thing every time. The woman and her strong accent gave him a headache.

Exactly 5 hours and 17 minutes later, his shift was over. Normally, Jisung would leave the office now and force his way through the late-night traffic.
Now he could shuffle out of his room (the now empty bottle in tow). In his head he made lists of shows he hasn't watched yet if it's worth watching them at all... in the end, he decided to watch Howls moving Castle for the umpteenth time. Maybe he could make his "Miri-supervision" much easier with that.
Jisung turned around and wanted to go look for the girl. But she was already standing behind him with her arms crossed. "Oh my god holy sh-." The Man grabbed his shirt.
