CHAPTER SIX

"Alhamdulillah" ~Nahar

It was finally the day, the day she will write her post UTME that'll determine her future, she's scared. the past month and half, Ahsan, Mrs Ugo and her moved from textbook to textbook, google, chrome, phoenix, Mozilla etcetera, lots of books. She had spent the night like all the others in supplication to Allah

She hopped into shower and bathed but had bruised her pale skin doing so and it hurt, she wasn't this sensitive. Shrugging, she dried up and moved to her room to wear what she had laid on her bed chosen for the day. After dressing up, she cross checked to make sure her documents were intact then with her phone in hand walked downstairs. She's too nervous to actually eat so she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Ahsan on the couch with his car keys

"About time, are you gonna eat?" He asked her already knowing the answer

"I'm fasting" she replied looking down and playing with her fingers. He walked up to her and stopped in front of her

"Look up" she did as ordered, hazel against golden "you are gonna ace it in sha Allah because you are Nahar and you NEVER EVER give up, just like the thorn at the bottom of the white roses remind us, that's how you are Yasna"

"Thank you" he nodded with a smile

"Come on now my warrior on to battle" she nodded smiling and let him lead her out

The car they were going with was different, completely black. He opened the door for her and she slipped in, he closed it and went to his side. When they were both ready, he drove out. Her phone rang interrupting the silence and she answered it

"Nahar" Adda greeted

"As salaamu alaykum Adda"

"Waalaykumu salaam, ya kike?" She asked

"Alhamdulillah"

"Are you there yet?"

She shook her head "no, I'm still on the way

"Okay, good luck, we are praying for you, call me later if you reach" she said

"Okay" she hung up and Nahar rested her head on the window shield closing her eyes and praying. Her dream is so close by, just 2 hours away
They arrived at the school a few minutes later and she noticed a bunch of people turn to look at the car she was in. Ahsan had parked the car and turned to her "don't forget to pray, do not answer anyone in that hall apart from the invigilators and stay safe"

She nodded and opened the car and walked out. The school was big and there were a bunch of students like her standing in a line in front of her center "go"

She moved into the line handing him the bag and waited for her number to be called before she was handed her paper and walked in, it was big and square. She sat on the chair indicated beside a female, fair in completion just like her, she was absolutely stunning and beautiful that Nahar was shocked, she's one of the most beautiful girls she has ever seen "hello"

"Hello" she replied

"My name is Nabila" the girl introduced

"Nahar"

"Nice to meet you, medicine?"

"Yes"

"Same"

"Alright everyone, quiet down, you know the rules, no cheating, start when you are told, good luck" the hall was silent for a while and soon it began
It was an okay exam she was glad to be over with and by the time it was time of, she was done. She looked up and waited till the papers were collected before grabbing her things and walking out with Nabila beside her "Alhamdulillah that's over, gosh, I'm so exhausted, I can sleep in peace now"

Nahar nodded "yeah, in peace" her nightmares have gotten worse over the course of time especially during the rain. She waved Nabila who ran to her mother and scanned the small crowd

She saw Ahsan standing waiting for her and she smiled walking up to him "how was it?"

"Alhamdulillah" she sighed

"Alright, get in, we have an appointment before going home" he ordered opening the door for her
She entered and waited for him, rested her head and closed her eyes, it has been a long tense week and she's just glad it is over

They drove in silence and she only looked up when he parked, confused seeing them in a bank "come on"

He led her in past security to a group of people and got paper, he handed it to her "fill it up, you need it for school"

She did as ordered and he submitted it, a few minutes later he handed her a card with her name on it "this is yours, 20,000 naira will be deposited in it every month for school, data, transport etcetera"

"But-" she said and he shook his head

"No buts, now let's get you home, I know you want to sleep your exhaustion off" he took her to the car while she was staring at it "don't forget your password, I've sent it to your phone"

She nodded and checked and truly there it was. A four numbered password

They drove home and went their separate ways, she called Adda and told her everything before praying

"So the results are out" Ahsan said coming into the kitchen where she was preparing lunch. She paused mid stir and looked at him wide eyed

"Ha-have you checked?" She stuttered, her hands shaking and he nodded before smiling widely

"Congratulations Ms Ibrahim, you have been accepted into Bayero University's faculty of Medicine" he announced grinning bringing out a box of cupcake from behind him

She was so shocked she didn't say anything, she just looked at him wide eyed. Before he could comprehend, she had gone down for sujud thanking Allah before raising up and jumping

"OMG!!!!! I can't believe it, Alhamdulillah"

"Congratulations Doctor Nahar, May Allah continue to bless you"

"Ameen" she mumbled tears falling, she can't believe it

He brought out a cupcake and handed it to her, laughing she collected it and took a bite "it is amazing, thank you"

"You are welcome" he replied "now let's eat some lunch and do your clearance"

After lunch, they did the clearance and paid
