Chapter 8: Dinner Disaster

You looked over the dining table of the Madrigals and the Guzmans are there sitting next to Isabella. You looked over Isabella and she looked so worried but your gaze was interrupted by Mirabel and Dolores having a staring contest. You swallowed your saliva, trying to hope that Dolores won't say anything... But you all know that Dolores can't keep an important secret to herself. "Salud!" Everyone said as you can feel the intense staring of Mirabel to Dolores. "Avocado?" Mariano said as he passed the avocado right in front of Mirabel's face. You turned to Dolores and she immediately told Camilo, 'No, no, no!' You thought as Camilo coughs then changes to Mirabel then Bruno then to himself with a disfigured face. You try not to laugh because it was a serious thing, "Camilo. Fix your face." Felix said as Camilo fixes his face and saw you behind a pillar behind Mirabel's side of the table. You saw Camilo swallowed his saliva and mouthing, "Sorry." To you. Mirabel gasps as the pitcher of water was passed to her, causing to lose her sight at Camilo as he passes the information to his father, who spat out his water to Abuela and the Guzmans. He made eye contact to you and he saw your face was filled with worry... He wishes he would do something but he can't. "Mirabel." Alma said as Mirabel grunts, "The cream, please?" Alma said as Agustin passed the cream to Mirabel and she passed it to Isabella.

But during that, you saw Felix saying the exact words to Pepa and you swore that you felt chills down your spine because you saw a cloud forming on the Madrigal table, "Pepa, the cloud." Alma said as Pepa brushes her hair to calm herself down. You looked at the cloud and saw Pepa passing the information to Julieta. Julieta looked at her daughter and Mirabel looks down while pretending to sip her drink when you heard the cracks. You saw them forming on the floor where Mirabel is sitting... You turned around and placed you back to the pillar as you study the glowing green pieces inside of your bag and Mirabel's. Then you overheard Luisa is going to bring the piano, 'But she can't lift it...' You though as you decided to help. You went over to Luisa, "Y/N?" Luisa whispers as you shush her, "I'll help you, kaibigan." You said as she drags it with you dragging the end. But then you felt something moving behind you and sure enough... Antonio's animals got all the pieces of Mirabel's vision!

You gasped as your eyes followed the animals under the table where Mirabel saw them piecing it all together. But because of Mirabel trying to catch the animals... The whole proposal was ruined and it all went down. Camilo's eyes tried to find you but you sneaked down the table that he have to look down, "What happened?" Camilo whispered to you as you tremble, wanting it all to end now. "Mirabel found Bruno's vision. She's in it. She's gonna destroy the magic and now, we're all doomed!" Dolores shouted as you gasped, now trying to get out of the table while everyone is distracted. You went back to the pillar and saw the walls cracking again but this time... It was visible to everyone, "Oh no..." You mumble on your breath.

You then tried to sneak out of the house but Camilo and Dolores caught you and dragged you to Dolores' room. They let you sit on Dolores' bed, "You two have been doing that all day long?!" Dolores whisper yelling to you as you flinched, "Look, it's not what you think it is." You said, "We saw the cracked vision... Abuela saw the cracked vision! Do you know what will happen with Mirabel now that Abuela knows?!" Dolores is slightly talking louder as you looked down, "Me and Mirabel don't know what the vision is about, okay?! We just found inside of your Tio's tower... That's it!" You then angrily said as you stood up and walked around the room, trying to calm yourself. Camilo went to your side, "Hey... Calm down... Just explain to us what happened..." He softly said to you as you took a deep breath in and out. "The cracks that Mirabel saw on the night Toñito's gift ceremony... I saw them too." You said as Dolores and Camilo went silent. They also believed that the miracle is strong... Why didn't they believed Mirabel in the first place?

"I saw them around Luisa's door. We thought that Luisa would know something and it turns out that her gift is slowly fading away." You said as you sigh. "Are you calm enough?" Camilo asked as you nod. He gave you a soft smile, "You can tell us the rest later... But right now... Mamí needs to be calm now." He said as he mentioned the storm still inside of the house. "I'm sorry, Y/N." Dolores said as you smile, "No worries... Now, just stay here and try to muffle the noise from outside... Alright?" You asked Dolores as she smiled. "Well... Shall we, bonita?" Camilo said reaching his hand as you blushed and took it. You and him made your way to Pepa's room filled with weather related objects like a tiny windmill by Pepa and Felix's bed as an alarm clock, a toy pinwheel and a bunch of umbrellas. "Camilo, can you calm you Mama down while I get her water... Oh, Hola Y/N." Felix said as you sheepishly smile, "Y/N?! What are you doing here?! Are you wet, dear?" Pepa asked you, "I-I'm fine, Señora. I wanted to see if your family is alright and Camilo happened to opened the door for me." You said as you let Pepa to her chair, "It's okay, Mamí. Deep breath in, deep breath out." Camilo said but then you a loud thud behind Pepa breaks and she accidentally struck her son with the lightning and now... He shape shifted into Alma, Felix, Agustin then himself and you saw it all, "Camilo! Are you alright, pogi?" You asked as he rubbed his butt where he hit the table behind him, "Y-Yeah... I guess." Camilo said as you try and lift him up. His eyes widen when you successfully lifted him and placed him to a nearby chair next to Pepa's. "How are you so strong?!" He exclaimed as you shrugged, "It's the Domingo Family Secret." You smirked as you now continue to calm Pepa down.

I have two ideas on this chapter... The first idea was to let Y/N follow Mirabel to the rats that leads to Bruno behind the walls. And the second is that she instead helped Camilo calm down his mother and help him recover from the lightning and the 'hitting the table behind you with your butt' thing and I chose the second option and it's pretty fitting for my own plot after the movie plot.

So translations... There are only two actually, "Pogi" meaning Handsome... And "Kaibigan" meaning Friend. Also The bonita is Spanish for Cute (I looked it up on Google. Not Google Translate).
