"Perhaps what?" Sorin enters the dorm with a smug grin plastered on his face. Sadie sits herself up on her elbows as he closes the door behind him with his hip.
"Did you have a lot of drinks last night?" Jiwon asks, rubbing her temples in an attempt to get rid of her hangover from the night before. Sorin shrugs as he sits on his bed, letting his backpack drop from his shoulder.
"Enough." His head hits his pillow as he talks sharply. While Jiwon kisses my cheek, Jiwon and Sadie link arms.
"We need to meet someone, so we'll meet you in the morning at your dorm, okay?" I respond with a nod before collecting my duffle bag and stuffing my ballet shoes inside.I learned the other day that there is a room dedicated to ballet dancers, and that there are hundreds of ballet dancers in this school with me. Sorin's eyes capture mine before he looks down at his phone, and I tie my dirty blonde hair into a loose and messy bun.
"What are your plans for the weekend?" He asks breaking the silence between us, whilst I stuff my leotard and tutu into my suitcase. My head cocks to one side. My brother, as well as my old college friends and the rest of my family, have not bothered to contact me this week.
"I'll probably just say here for the weekend," I say the truth while shrugging my shoulder. I grasp the golden, gleaming doorknob and gently twist it before Sorin speaks.
"Would you like to come home with me since you're not doing anything? My sister has asked me to take care of her children, so-"
"You want to stay with me for an extra two days." I say before laughing and tossing my bag over my shoulder.
"Or, you know...you could just stay here alone?" I place my hands on my hips, a nasty smirk spreading over his lips."I'm sure you'll miss me," I grin. "Thank you for the offer; I'll think about it."
I open the wooden door and close it behind me with my Doc Martins. There isn't a single student or teacher in sight as I stroll through the eerie and deserted corridors.
"Excuse me!" Behind me, a rather feminine voice speaks, making me jump out of my skin.
"Shit." I turn around, muttering under my breath, to find the girl approaching me. She has shoulder-length black hair with electric blue dye entwined along with side bangs. She's stunning, and she reminds me of someone who would have attended my university."Hi?" My voice has a questioning tone to it. She swiftly catches up to me, her combat boots giving her an advantage of inches on me.
"Hello, new girl," She speaks with a strong Italian accent in her voice. "Are you Sorin's roommate?"
I tightened my grasp on my luggage before nodding up and down. "May I question as to why you're asking?" I question as we continue to travel down the narrow halls,"My name is Phoenix, and I'm Sorin's ex-girlfriend. I know how he is." She abruptly comes to a halt, so I remain standing by her.
"He steals people's hearts far too easily, then crushes them without giving a second thought. Just don't fall him."
I raise an eyebrow as she rests her pale hand on my shoulder. That's fantastic; I haven't fallen for him yet. I have a teeny-tiny crush on him. All I have to do now is put some distance between myself and him, and attempt to see the negative side of him.
Of course, I'll meet his family on the weekend; I'm not going to be a loner on campus, but after that, I'll keep my distance.
"Thank you, Phoenix; I'll be sure to remember that." She tucks a strand of her black and electric blue hair behind her slight pointy ears, and I chuckle.
We continue to travel down the school halls, and it appears that we are getting along. We have a lot in common. We both come to a halt in front of the black double doors, a tiny grin on our faces.
"You a ballerina?" I question cocking my head to the side, as I push open the doors using the silver handles, Phoenix nods up a down and I allow my eyes to scan the black adidas bag on her shoulders.
"I have a feelings we're both going to get along." She mutters, closing the door behind her. The room is surprisingly empty, and I sent of strawberries hit my nose as I stand in the middle of the room.
I let my hands grip the cold wooden bar that runs across the mirrors.
"Never expected you to be a ballet dancer," I chuckle as I take off my skirt and change into my ballet attire, which consists of a tutu, leotard, ballet shoes, and white tights."Because of my coloured hair, my clothing style, and my tattoos?" she jokes as she slips on her black ballet shoes.
"When I was in college, your 'type' ridiculed me for doing ballet." I speak as I begin to warm up on the bar. she hunches and grabs the wooden bar in front of me.
Ballet is something I'm not very good at. I haven't practised in about a year. But the moment I grip the wooden pole, I let go, allowing all of my emotions to flow through my body as I start to dance. I let my emotions to take control of me as the room feels entirely empty.
I think about everybody whose took advantage of me in my life, my professor and many more people in my life.
All of a sudden a see Phoenix smirking at me through my mirror, and I allow myself to stop dancing for a moment. I raise an eyebrow at her through the mirror next to me, as she nods her head to the opposite direction.
I look over to where she's nodding, to see Sorin leaning against the mirror at the opposite side of the room his arms crossed over his chest.
"I don't like that you're taking a liking to my ex." He smirks walking over to me, and I scoff whilst rolling my eyes.
"I may disagree with everything you say, but you have a decent taste on women." I speak, as Phoenix bumps my arm with her elbow.
His lips curl into a smug smirk as he strides over to me.
"I'd have to agree with you." He speaks.Distance yourself from him.
I bite my lower lip, before shrugging.
"Whatever." I grab my duffle bag and exit the room.Leaving Sorin in the same room with his ex-girlfriend...alone.
Maybe I should have thought this through.
