Chapter 1- The Resurrection

In the dark of the night, the gate guards try not to fall asleep because of the deep silence. The wind is absent and the sky is missing the stars, while the sand on the rocky ground makes its presence felt under the soles of the sand. From the dark mist, the sound of a heeled pair of shoes shone through the ears of the two half-asleep men at the gates. They draw their swords and listen vigilantly to the rhythmic step that clearly belongs to a woman. A kind of whip is vigorously aimed at them and disarms them.
"Is that how you greet the queen? The emperor will not be pleased to hear such a thing." the queen's well-known voice echoes.
"How do we know that you are the true queen and not one of the acolytes of the Shaolin Monks who holds the powers of Shang Tsung? You might as well kill the true queen and come to us to find out our secrets. We need proof that you are the real one. "

"You are quite an impertinent servant, but you are doing your job well. If you ask for evidence, I will give it to you. I will set out some plans for the emperor." that being said, the woman convinces the guards.

"Excuse our suspicion, Empress! We have a few details to offer. Our army and unconventional friends have managed to get all the Relic Spirits except the one on the defunct island, Shinnok's Amulet. Without it, the process cannot begin."

"Leave it to me. A newcomer to this world has made his presence felt everywhere, inside him lives one of the oldest and most powerful Edenian races. Thanks to that fool you have me here right now. Send one of these creatures -pointing a finger at an animal-, it will be smart enough to trick him and make him give us knowingly the last piece."

She nods and they leave to carry out the order they received, not before the well-known bow. Meanwhile, Her Highness makes her way to the throne hall and when she sits down in her rightful place, a smile is on her face.

An unannounced bodyguard enters the room and informs her that she must go with him to a meeting with the Tarkatans to create a more vital and more advantageous alliance. The queen waved her hand as if she wants to drive away the flies and ordered him to wait for her, to leave soon. The queen goes to her personal room and puts on purple and gold armor, revealing her roundness. She wears a guandao, one of her favorite weapons from the Earthrealm.

"I see you're armed, fully equipped. Still, we're going to form an alliance, not hostility."
"This guandao is a weapon that belongs to those people with strange long eyes and more yellow skin. All this weapon could do is break a few limbs, take out some eyes, injure to death, so in conclusion nothing too dangerous." says the woman while laughing softly. The man smiles politely and opens the way to their new location, the Kove.

After walking through the purple portal, they arrived in a new, darker and cooler location.
"Wwwelcome to ourrr hhhumble place, Sindel. We have waittted forrr you sssome time agggo."
"I've had a few setbacks, Baraka. You probably know about Mileena and your emperor's plan, don't you?"

"I have nooo rrrulerr, Yourr Highness. Shao Kkkahn isss justtt an alllie."
The queen frowns in disgust when she hears the hideous creature's accent and nods disapprovingly.
"No matter how much you don't like being under his leadership, we defeated your legion one time, we can do it again. All we want now is to raise the stakes a little, and give you some freedom in exchange for your willingness to fight in our wars, to defeat once and for all those monks."

"I donnn't like being playeddd by a girrrrrll, but the Tarrrkatans will be nexttt to you, my queen."
