"thank you so much!", i say as i bow to my new boss after talking to him about a few more informations about my new job.

"we'll see eachother next week, don't be late", he says in a joking yet warning tone.

i walk out of his office and slowly make my way to the exit i hear somebody call my name.

i turn around to see the producer teddy standing there and walking up to me.

"yah, you weren't going to walk out here and not even come to greet me, right?", he laughs and gives me a hug.

"i start working here next week so i definitely would've stopped by at some point."

"i heard you' ll be in the marketing departement, but why didn't you tell the boss that you also like to produce songs?", he asks full of curiosity.

"i'm not a famous producer or anything, i just like making them in my free time, he would never hire me and to be honest .. i think that's for the better. at least for now."

"yeah, i guess. you want to come to my studio and listen to something i have been working on?"

i nodd in excitement and follow him to his studio.

"so how's you're sister doing?", teddy asks after we listened to one of his demos and talked about his work here at yg.

"right, i almost forgot that you dated her", i say as we both laugh.

"she's good, very invested in her new fashion line so i didn't get to see her that much the past few months but overall she's happy".

he nodds and looks at his hands.

"she's single."

his head shoots up in surprise as he looks startled.

"that's .. also good to know", he laughs.

suddenly somebody knocks on the door and we both turn around to see who it is.

"come in."

our boss walks in, following him a few younger men.

"oh hello, long time no see", he jokes when he sees me.

"i wanted you to show these boys your new demo. i know you didn't make it for them but i think it would really fit the new concept that we have in mind for them."

"of course, give me a minute to find it."

as the boss leaves the guys look a little confused so i decided to greet them first.

"hello, my name's kaia. i start working here next week and .. i, i've known teddy for years so that's why i'm here. sorry to surprise you guys and i don't want to disturb you while working so i'm going to leave now", i say , probably in the most awkward way possible since i don't know any of them and didn't know how to talk to them.

"oh no, you can stay if you want. it won't take too long, i'm hyunsuk by the way. very nice to meet you", he bows and smiles.

they introduce themselves one by one.

hyunsuk, jihoon, junkyu and yedam. got it.

they listened to the demo a few times and shared some ideas while i was sitting in the corner of the couch and listened to them talk curiously.

"alright i'll talk to yg and show him all the ideas we've got so far. i'll inform you on how it's going", teddy explains and leans back into his chair.

"thank you very much. we'll get going then!"

as they bowed one last time and said goodbye i noticed one of them looking at me with a look i can't seem to explain.

"uh, hello? are you even listening?"

i turn to teddy in surprise because i didn't notice he had been talking to me while i was just almost staring at the door.

"which one?", he asks looking with a dirty smile.

"huh?"

"i can tell somebody caught your attention, which one?"

"oh nobody. what the hell. okay maybe one but don't talk about it anymore or else you'll get me fired without having even started yet."
