it was the next day and i just finished almost all of the tasks for today before it was even lunch time. that means i could leave early, which i needed considering i still have to pack a few of my things and move them to my new place.

the cafeteria didn't open until 12:30pm so i would have to wait over thirty more minutes. i was too hungry since i didn't eat any breakfast, so i took make bag and walked down to the bakery.

i had been talking to the girl that works here for the past fourty minutes and i found out she's even more amazing than i thought. her name is lia and her mother owns this bakery. they opened up a few more around the country, but lia is responsible for this one. at just twenty-one i find it really admirable that she works so much and has a lot of responsibilities while still enjoying her youth.

''so what about you, kaia? what made you want to work at yg?'', she asks and sits down next to me because there weren't any costumers at the moment, which was odd because there's usually at least a few people here.

''i had been working in the marketing department for about two years, but my previous company decided to fire a lot of the workers, including me. we never really found out why, they also only told me the day before i had to leave. i didn't bother asking or creating unnecessary drama because they weren't worth it.''

''oh, .. that must have been frustrating. but how did you get to yg then?''

''to be honest, i was just lucky because i saw that they were looking for someone. you could say it was the perfect timing.''

''it definitely was. i rarely talk to girls my age in here so let me ask you something to make my day a little more interesting. do you have a boyfriend or a crush maybe? if so, i want to know more!'', she leans in and makes me laugh with the anticipating look on her face.

''i was in a relationship for 3 years and we broke up a little over a year ago, so i don't really think about it anymore. i broke up with him because we were both in different places in our lives and i got more and more pressured by him and his family. he wanted to get married but i thought it was too early for me, i mean i was 21. i was old enough to do it but it didn't feel right to me."

as i finished the sentence silence filled the room.
she looked at me and took my hand,

"you did the right thing. you shouldn't get married because of the pressure from him and his family. you should do it when you want to and feel like it's the right time. i could write a whole book about my last relationship, so i understand what it feels like to go through something like that."

"what happened to you?"

"let's just say there was verbal and physical abuse and a lot of cheating going on, but i don't feel like talking about this right now. i will tell you about that another time, i don't want to ruin your day."

i nod and give her an understanding look.

"by the way, my friends are throwing a birthday party for a girl and i don't feel like going there by myself because i don't really like her. if you want you can join me and we can enjoy some music and talk a bit more about our depressing stories whilst watching her drunk ass making a fool out of herself."

we both start laughing so hard that we didn't notice somebody entering the shop.

"excuse me .. is the shop open? if not i can leave-"

"oh my god.", lia says surprised as we turn around to look at the guy standing at the door.

"of course, i'm so sorry. i'll take your order right now", lia stands up and hurriedly walks behind the counter.

as the guy orders his food i try to take a look at his face but i can't see because of his mask.

suddenly he looks at me, "kaia?"

"jihoon! hi. i thought you looked really familiar", i smile and walk over to him.

"how's your work going? do you like it at our company?"

"yeah, i'm enjoying a lot more than the last place i worked at. especially because the company is so clean and the people there are really nice", i say making him let out a chuckle.

"that's good to hear. how's the moving out going? i should be free after 5pm if you need me. i would be willing to help you."

i almost forgot about that. i did pack the last few boxes that i have yet to take to my apartment, but it would take me a lot of time to do that by myself.

on the other hand, i don't want him to exhaust himself, since he's busy with his own work and should rest as much as he can ..

"don't think about it too long, it would make me feel better if you could just tell me instead of a silent rejection."

how could i reject that cute smile of his?

"it would be an honor for me if you could help me", i say and bow to him dramatically.

he laughs and does the same,
"i should be the one feeling honoured to help a pretty woman like you."

i can see lia eyeing me because she overheard the last sentence.

"well thank you. i .. i'll talk to you later when i'm done with my work. it shouldn't take too long though which means i will go home early and you can just catch up with me later?"

he takes out his phone, "okay, just give me your number so i can text you when i'm done with my schedule. if you don't mind of course."

i take his phone and type in my number and name then look at him with a sweet smile while giving him his phone back.

"there you go. i'll meet you later!"

jihoon seems to be taken aback because of my bluntness but i find it rather cute to see him like that.

"what the hell did i just witness?", lia says as soon as he left.

i shrug my shoulders and go back to my seat to take my bag and the leftovers of the food that i ordered.

"i don't want to sound crazy but i definitely felt something there. i know this is about you but anyone could feel the tension between you too."

"no idea what you're talking about, i'm just glad i have someone to help me move out of my place."

"yah. stop playing dumb, you know exactly what you were doing with that - oh jihoon there you go, here's your phone, wink wink, what a cutie -" her little play got interrupted by the sound of the door opening.

jihoon walks in, "i forgot my wallet on the counter over there. i'm sorry to interrupt your .. conversation", he laughs and takes his wallet before leaving again.

i give lia a stare that could mean only one thing,
"you idiot. he must think that we're insane."

"well, i wouldn't say we're normal either", lia says making us laugh.

i was about to leave but turned around one last time,

"yah, lia."

"hm?", she asks confused.

"when's the party you were talking about?"

"saturday, why?"

"you own me a drink or two for whatever just happened, don't disappoint me!"

"deal!", she smiles and nods her head excitedly.
