New Beginnings

You had been working at castle Dimitrscu for over a year now, and you've lasted longer than most other maidens, usually, new maidens only last about two weeks, due to them dropping something or ruining a task. However, you've never ruined a task, which was something that the lady admired about you, besides the fact that you were mostly on time and never more than 2 minutes late

Now, you had just finished eating breakfast with the other maidens and now it was time to start on your daily tasks which were:
1. Dust the paintings.
2. Clean the foyer.
3. Help serve dinner.

That should be easy enough, You thought.

Oh it was NOT as easy as you thought it would be, Starting with your first task was an absolute CHORE, considering there are countless paintings throughout the castle, and some of them were quite large, which made it difficult to dust off the entire thing. On the other hand, the foyer was absolutely MASSIVE and it took a long while to sweep and mop the entire thing. But, nonetheless, you completed your first chores without much issue and just in time to help serve dinner for the countess and her daughters. The only problem was that you looked extremely wore out and there wasn't enough time to go back to your room and change, so you would have to go, even in your current state of wreck.

As you make your way down to the kitchen, alongside the other maidens who had to help serve dinner, a newer maiden who was walking in front of you, stops abruptly and begins to shake and hyperventilate as she backs up, right into you.

S-ss-so-sorry, i-it's m-my bad- she says

Hey now, it's okay, what's wrong- you say

I-it's just that I d-don't think t-that I can do this, w-what if I m-mess up in front of t-the lady and she gets m-mad- she blurts

Shhhh, calm down, you'll be just fine- you console

R-really?- she questions

Sure, all you need to do is have a little confidence and just believe in yourself- you reply

A-are you sure?- She asks

Yes, now just calm down and take a few deep breaths, okay?- you offer

A few minutes later

Alright, do you feel better now?- You ask

Yeah, I think so- she says finally

Oh, what was your name by the way?-You question

Astrid- she replies

Well, it was nice to meet you Astrid, and just remember, believe in yourself and you'll do just fine- you remind her

You all enter the kitchen and wait for your turn to help the Lady and her daughters. You stand at the end of the line, as your job is to take away the plates after the countess and her daughters have finished eating. As time goes on, all the maidens exit, and return to the kitchen after there task has been completed, including Astrid

Finally, it's your time to go and clear away the dishes from the table, but as you walk out, the Countess is still seated at the head of the table.

You pick up the last dish and are just about to return to the kitchen when the countess speaks

Y/N, come here a moment, will you?

Yes, my lady- you say as you walk towards her

It has come to my attention that I am in need of a new handmaiden, as the last one is no longer capable of fulfilling the job, so Y/N YOU are going to be my new personal handmaiden- she states

I'd be honored to be your new handmaiden, my lady- you answer

Very well then, meet me in my chambers at 11 o'clock tonight and I'll go over the requirements with you, DON'T BE LATE- she warns

Yes, my lady- you retort

After you return to the kitchen and put the dishes into the sink, you hurriedly rush to your room and quickly shut the door

Oh my god, I can't believe that this is actually happening, I have no idea how I'm going to be able to not stare into those beautiful golden eyes of hers.... Ughhhh I have to go freshen up who knows what she'll need me to do

After you finish freshening up you look at the time great, 15 minutes to go, I should probably start heading over
As you briskly walk through the halls to your lady's chambers to discuss your new job requirements, you can't help but start to get a bit nervous, but you quickly shake the feeling as you arrive at her door. You barely even raise your fist to knock when you hear a steady "Come in" from the other side of the door

As you enter her chambers you take a moment to admire the beautiful design and layout of everything, from the incredible details on her bedposts, to the lavish rugs atop the lush crimson tiling, and last but not least, the huge luxurious fireplace, accompanied by the divine armchair that was holding the countess herself

A goddess of a being, who stood at about 9 feet tall that towered over any full grown man you had ever seen in your entire life, sat there, body draped in a delicate satin night gown with lace accents, drinking a glass of rich, blood-infused wine from a beautiful crystal chalice, while taking a long drag from her vintage cigarette holder, oh what a sight for sore eyes.

Oh, Y/N, I'm so glad you were able to accompany me this evening- she said after gingerly releasing a plume of smoke into the air

Of course, my lady- you answered

Now, regarding your new position there will be some changes to your routine- she began

For starters, you will be expected in my chambers at 5:30 every morning to wake me up, from then on, you will assist me with getting dressed, and you will also do my hair as well, any questions about anything so far? - She asks

No, my lady

Very well then, after that, you will tidy up my chambers and then join me at my side during breakfast, you will continually be at my side all day unless I tell you otherwise- she continues

After dinner, you will return with me to my chambers and help me prepare for bed. This includes bathing, dressing and feeding me- oh, and the feeding will be from your neck, but don't worry, I'll be mindful of how much I take- she adds with a wink

Wow, my lady, that's a very drastic change from my normal routine- you say after a few moments

Yes, I'm aware that it may take you a few days to get it all down, so don't get to stressed about it- she answers

Thank you, my lady - you reply

I believe that with be all for tonight it's best you get some sleep

I really want this to be a very reader influenced story, like what happens next or how certain characters behave, so PLEASE 🙏 leave a comment because I would LOVE to hear your opinion, and keep in mind that I might tweak your suggestions and put my own twist on things

And before y'all ask... Yes there will be smut eventually but not in these first few chapters, also, I know that this chapter was pretty short, but in the future, chapters will be 2000 words minimum not including the author note
