The weekend was boring for Dream. George hadn't allowed him to hang out with him. Even though Dream insisted on hanging out with the brunette, the answer was always no.
After 20 minutes of trying to convince the boy, Dream had given up, and instead hung out with himself.
As for George's weekend, well the days were filled with tension and worry. His dad was coming back from the trip. Wilbur on the other hand, he was excited. Obviously not for his dad's arrival, but for George. It was his birthday today. He was turning 16, and although it was his own birthday, he wasn't more excited then Wilbur, he wasn't as excited as Wilbur, in fact he wasn't that excited at all.
He was happy, just not excited. He knew he wasn't going to get anything big, if anything a card with $20 inside it and a few clothes.
'How's it feel to be sixteen Georgie' Wilbur slung his arm over George's shoulders. 'I feel absolutely no change.' Wilbur laughed, letting go of his brother.
Soon the morning passed, and just like that it was noon. George heard the front door open, as well as being slammed shut. He leaned back in his chair to see his dad, and quickly looked back.
He grabbed his phone, learning over time to be upstairs and away when his dad got home. He got up from his seat at the table where he was previously eating, grabbing his phone and putting his bowl in the dishwasher after rinsing it out.
As he whipped around, in a hurry to avoid his dad, his heart sank. His dad was right there, and he flinched as the older man's arms stretched out. Instead of pain, George felt the warmth of his dad hugging him. He awkwardly hugged him back.
For the first time in a while, he smelled no liquor coating his father. 'I know an apology isn't good enough for what I've done the last few years, but I truly am sorry. I know your mother's death is not an excuse to me getting drunk every day and hitting you. I really am sorry, George. I love you so much, you're such a good kid. I never should have done any of this. I apologize, and I take fully responsibility for my actions.'
George didn't know what to do. He just stood there. Frozen. Astonished. What happened when to his dad? Surely this was not serious and was just a joke. His hands lost grip of his dad, falling loosely to his sides. 'really..?'
The tears that had built up were now streaming down his face. His dad pulled away from the hug. 'Yes.'The small family were all sat at the dining table now, talking over lunch. 'Wil, would you like to do the honors?' His dad held up a black bandana, giving it to Wilbur. 'Oh yeah' He was quick to lunge at George and tie it around his eyes, Guiding him to the door. 'Are you ready?'
'Uh...sure' His dad handed him a box, where he blindly took off the lid. What he grabbed jingled, and he assumed it was, not car keys, but a dog collar. '..am I getting a dog.?' Wilbur laughed, taking off the blindfold. 'No' George looked up to see a brand new black Jeep. He gawked at it for a while before turning to his dad and hugging him, thanking him profusely.-/-/-/-/-
