The silvery skies blew cold breezes to the face of Kiel Avery Frost as he looked at the three guests sternly. He seemed to focus more on the young man with untidy curly black hair who stared back at him with a seemingly provoking smile and an arched brow. His face seemed oddly familiar to him.
The one with the caramel hair sighed and rolled her yellowish eyes, "Are you two planning to stare at each other all day, or can we come in?" the girl asked with an evidently peeved and bored tone.
"Err," Frost scratched the back of his head, "Aquila," he called.
The girl with the reddish auburn hair landed a glance before she continued playing. Her amber eyes grew larger as she suddenly kicked her foot to the snow. She mumbled and huffed words beyond comprehension as she turned the phone's screen off with a dismayed expression. But in mere moments, she started to use it again.
Aquila peeked his head to the gap between the door and where Frost stood, "Oh, hey Fritz," he said with a smile, "you too Eu-eu."
"Aren't you going to say hi to her?" Fritz asked with a smile as he moved aside and pointed his eyes to the girl with reddish auburn hair.
Aquila didn't speak for a moment. He rushed to her side and pulled the chord of her headphones.
She was speechless while she retained her eyes looked at him blankly. Her lips was later furled as her eyes became doleful.
Aquila smiled and gave her a warm embrace. He tightened it even more quickly.
Her doleful eyes became surprised while she dropped her phone. Her arms was straightened while engulfed in his embrace with her hands bent upwards.
Euphemia looked at them blankly while Fritz kept his smile. Frost looked confused and surprised at the same time.
He continued to embrace her tightly.
The girl stretched and swung her arms and broke free of Aquila's embrace. Her arms immediately wrapped around him and sealed her eyes shut.
Aquila embraced her back and pushed her head to his chest, "I know you're strong beneath that silence."
Her eyes became teary as it remained close.
Aquila rested his chin on her head, "You want to talk somewhere private?" he asked.
She moved not her head from its place as she nodded.
He looked back at Frost, "Frost, can you start the jacuzzi now for me?" he asked with a smile, "And the clothes you always leave are upstairs," he said to Euphemia and Fritz before he started to walk with her to the garden.
"Aquila, wait," Euphemia said, "happy birthday," she greeted with a sweet smile.
Fritz nodded to him and quickly turned to her face.
Aquila nodded to the two back with a smile.
She looked at Fritz, peeved, "What?"
Fritz' brow arched and his head moved a bit back, "What?"
She pushed his shoulders, "What are you looking at?"
He smiled, "Something really rare."
"What's rare?"
"That smile," he said, "how come I don't get to see it much anymore?"
"It's because I don't really see something worth to smile to lately," she said with a bored tone.
He chuckled, "Seems logical enough."
"Whatever," she said blankly as she went inside the Ashworth residence.
