{{DAMARA MARIANO}}
[One.Year.Later.]

I stepped through the house and took off my heels along the way. Vi was right behind me taking off his tie.

"How many stupid charity events do we have to go to." I groaned.

"Don't ask me." Vi scoffed.

I still hadn't looked at him but I know he was directly behind me. And I smiled to myself when he moved my hair to the side and pulled the strings to my dress.

My dress slid down my body and I turned around placing my arms around his neck allowing one of my hands to play with a piece of his hair. All of a sudden a large shot rang through our house and blood splattered into my face. Vi fell onto me and I screamed.

"No!" I sobbed lowering him to the ground into my lap. I stared at the hole in his head and sobbed harder. I looked around and only saw a bullet hole in the window.

"Damara!" I heard a raspy voice yell. "Baby! Wake up!" I opened my eyes with a deep gasp.

I turned and threw myself on top of Vittorio. Both of us almost fell off the couch. This is why I don't sleep anywhere but in his arms. He went on a mission a week ago and hasn't been home, the second time I try to sleep I end up seeing my husband die.

How the fuck did I even sleep, let alone live without him for years?

"I- you died." I gasped. "Thank you for coming home in one piece." I fisted his shirt burying my face in his neck.

"I'm right here. And I'll be damned if I leave you alone." Vi kissed my cheek. "I have a present for you, Mara." He rasped.

"Show me." I sniffled.

"You're going to have to move, lover." Vittorio sighed.

I moved a little and he sat up so I was straddling him Vi took his hoodie off. I stared at his chest nearly drooling, when I saw it. Directly over his heart was a new addition to his tattoo collection.

Forever and always.

I leaned down and placed a kiss to the new tattoo leaving my lips there for a solid thirty seconds before I pulled away and held his face. He tried to lean in but I stopped him.

"Just let me look at you for a minute." I said staring at his features. "You, are the most beautiful person I've ever met." I grinned.

I leaned down and kissed him with everything in me. It's been a year since I almost died. Kinda weird to think about since I was trapped in a coma for two months and lost that time away from Vittorio.

Grant is dead and I don't have anything to worry about anymore. My only worry is when our adoption application comes back.

Vittorio and I both shared an interest in children, we both want a child to raise. I feel bad that I can't give him his own child, with his own blood. I mean there are other ways like getting a surrogate to carry out baby. But then I wouldn't be related at all.

We decided adoption was better because most children are neglected and I know exactly what that feels like. To loose everything. I can't wait to be a mother.

I was flipped onto my back and Vi laid flat on top of me holding me. He's so warm it makes me feel so... content.

"I love you." I said without thinking.

That's how it is now, we just say it without thinking, when we both feel the moment is right. It's never a wrong time to say that to him. We both know it.

"I love you." He replied kissing my cheek.

Suddenly he got off me and pulled me up. He pulled me outside and he still didn't have a shirt on. It was pitch black but the moon lit up his features. He took a seat on the grass and I sat next to him.

Vittorio moved again so his head was on my thighs. I played with his hair softly as I looked towards the city and at the stars.

"You're extraordinary enchanting." Vi caught my attention and I looked down at him.

"I love that word." I looked back up. "Enchanting." I whispered to myself.

It's insane to think both of us were two lost souls. Then by chance we were paired up and fell in love within weeks of meeting each other. We both denied our feelings till they were to impossible to deny.

Now look at us.
