Jett.
"Damn. What's with the biggie smile?"
"Nothing," I replied to Kuya Jaice as we were eating breakfast the next day at a buffet in the hotel. All of them were looking at me as if I was... weird. Umangat lang din tuloy ang tingin ko't napakurap sa kanila. Even Mom and Dad were looking at me in question. "Is... it weird to be happy?"
Kuya Jarvis looked away, stifling a smile. "Let's just all eat peacefully," he said as he went back to eating his salad.
"Ahuh..." Kuya Jaice had his eyes squinting at me. "Ahuh! I see something happened yesterday."
"Really? What happened?!" It was Ate Claudia who suddenly stopped eating her waffles.
"I saw him talking on the phone at 1 in the morning! Ngiting-ngiti sa veranda—"
"I'll get going po," I cut him off as I stood up. He's trouble personified. Dahil sa ginawa ko'y natawa na lang si Kuya Jaice. Ate Tres and Ate Claudia had their foreheads knotted on me. Tinapik ko na lang sa balikat si Kuya Jarvis before I bid good bye to Mom and Dad.
"Are you going out today, Jett?" Mom raised a brow.
I nodded. "Opo. I'll be back around eight in the evening."
Dad slightly choked on his drink. "Are you with Jaice?"
I blinked. "No..." I hesitated because knowing them... if they'd discover I will be out with Sab, they'll most probably push me to bring her everywhere we go. That's bad because my siblings are wild when traveling—it will definitely weird her out or make her uncomfortable. "Just someone."
"Wushu, wushu! Me! I know who! It's Sa—ouch!" Kuya Jaice halted when I saw Kuya Jarvis kick him under the table. I laughed as I nodded at him before I finally walked away to avoid further queries from anyone on the table. I'd certainly thank him later.
I quickly went back to our room. No time to wait for my siblings to finish eating breakfast because all of them are super slow-eaters. Thank God because I really didn't want to be questioned right now. I chuckled to myself when I remembered what happened yesterday. Damn that call, huh. I didn't expect it was a confession! Kung alam ko lang noon na iyon pala ang sasabihin niya sa akin, I'd definitely ditch the whole meet-up with Maia's agent.
Sometimes I do wonder... what would it be like to not ever cross paths with Sabrielle. But life's bland without her. At this point, I just want to keep her inside my pocket. She's so cute.
My attention went on my phone when it rang. My lips automatically curved into a smile when I saw Sab's name on the screen. I answered it as I let it on the loudspeaker while I was putting on some perfume on my wrist.
"Good morning. Yes?" I greeted.
"Jett! Wait lang!" she exclaimed. I could hear some noises as if she was hiding. "Ayan, wala na si ate! Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit ba ako tumawag. Gusto ko lang mag-good morning kaya ayan, good morning!" She grinned.
I couldn't help but laugh, too. See? She's so cute when she's like this.
"Saan mo pala gustong pumunta? Kabisado ko 'tong Atlanta. Tour pa kita!"
I smiled to myself. "Anywhere you want, Sab. I'll be happy."
"Weh? Sure ka ha?" She was giggling.
"Yup. Do whatever you want to me."
