Days passed and it was finally the day before the banquet, Keqing was still running a cold but wasn't as bad as the other day. The council had it's last meeting before the big day. "Meeting adjourned." Jean said leaving the room. She glanced at her phone smiling every 2 seconds. Meanwhile, Keqing and Ganyu seemed as close as ever walking everywhere together. You sat on your desk filing paperwork hearing Keqing sniffle constantly. "You sure you okay? I can manage more than filing paperwork you know." you said. "Oh I'm fine, go on." Keqing happily looked at her phone.

You walked down the halls seeing people ask each other out to the banquet, seeing people kiss by the lockers have now became a somewhat normal occurrence for you. Especially for your locker-mate, you'd constantly pass Thoma kissing Ayaka every 2 seconds. You were happy that you finally found your place. At the same time, you had your eye on a certain blonde boy. You tried to brush off the feeling but couldn't. "Hey there comrade!" a tall ginger headed guy was waiting for you by your locker. Over the past days, you had made friends with Childe, a narcissist. "Helloo!" you exclaimed. "Well comrade, I was hoping you would go to the banquet with me tomorrow. As a date." he said abruptly. You stared at him in shock not knowing what to say. You froze and just processed what had happen. You gave him a glance and said "I'll think about it, I'll tell you by tonight." he nodded as you left to the cafeteria.

"Heya!" Venti waved to you. You sat next to him and a couple other people from the orchestra, band and even choir. You started talking with a couple of familiar faces like Barbara, Yun Jin and even Xinyan. "So then he just asked me (deep voice) hey you wanna go to the banquet with me as a date?? I just froze. Am I an idiot for not responding to him?" you said. "No, you're not. Boys are complicated." Yun Jin replied. "Hey! I take offence to that." Venti got mad at her. "Not you Venti.." Xinyan sighed. You went on and on talking to them as time quickly passed. "Bell rang, I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Barbara exclaimed. "Byeeee" all of you said in unison. "I gotta go, I'm catching the bus." you uttered. You waved at them and left for the bus. "Hello Y/N." you saw Albedo at the bus stop. You waved and smiled at him. "Say, are you going to the banquet tomorrow?"  you asked him. "Yes, although I'll be too busy organising everything. Why do you ask?" he replied. "Just wondering, I was originally going to ask you- nevermind."  you stopped and panicked. "Oh? I'd be happy to go with you, if you'd like anyway." Albedo responded. "Really?!" you shouted. "Yes." he smirked. "Thank you, I'll be at the bus stop by 8.00!" you answered. "No need, I'll fetch you." Albedo asked for your address. You both boarded the bus and headed home.

As you reached home, you opened your wardrobe and searched through your dresses. "None of these are nice enough." you complained. DING! A message appeared on your phone screen.

At first, you didn't think much of it. You then realised it was a date, a bribe for you to say yes to him. Why would someone like Childe need a new suit? He has dozens of suits. You felt awful since you already had Albedo to go with you. You grabbed your bag and told your mom that you were out. A honk came from outside as you stepped out, you saw Childe in a Porsche parked outside your small little lawn. You smiled and went in. "Local mall?" you asked him. "Yeah, can't take you too far ." he drove off. You arrived at the mall and Childe insisted you to hold his hand. You felt disinclined to hold his hand but did anyway. You found the perfect dress while he bought some cologne and a new suit. "What now? Do we hold hands and skip?" you said sarcastically. "Only if you want to darling." he joked. You saw Diluc and Jean walking along the stores with shopping bags in hand. You smirked not expecting them to go out together. A loner with crimson hair going out with the most beautiful and popular girl in school. You eventually packed up and went home. "So, have you made up your mind?" he asked coyly carrying out your bags. "Childe." you faced him. "You're a super nice person but I already found a date to the banquet." his face dropped. "I'm sorry." you said. "Well then comrade, see you tomorrow." Childe said disappointedly. You grabbed your bags and went in the house.
