Happiness if you're coming my way,
Make sure you're willing to stay.
Not for a moment or two,
But for longer: I've forgotten what it's like with you.
Come as content, come as joy.
Don't be fleeting, don't be momentary.
Don't give me a taste of the good times,
Only to be ripped off from beneath my feet,
Just like previous times.
Happiness if you're coming my way,
Know that I'm trying hard to be worthy of your affection.
Know that I fight myself each day to hold you in my grasp.
Know that I long to master the art of keeping you by my side.
Linger for a while longer, like a true love's embrace.
Happiness if we're indeed crossing paths today,
I'd like to take a moment and say:
I hurt seeing you keep others' company,
Bitterly wondering if Karma truly even exists.
Tell me: don't I deserve your warmth too?
