Castles in the air

I want to paint your masterpiece for a million lifetimes to come,
Will you be my muse through it all?
Will you continue to paint the colours in my skies everyday,
Even when I'm the grey clouds of storm?

I'll promise to stay and won't desert,
Till ivy and flowers cover the cottage of our love.
I'll build the fireplace if you can keep me warm,
Through freezing winter and violent storms.

Be the spark in our hearth when it's wet and humid.
Be the warmth that fogs up the air when I speak, on a cold snowy day.

I'll build with my cracked hands a mansion, a palace, a kingdom.
For you, I'd break open the skies searching of new hues:
To paint you're life with; because you're my palette, my strokes, my masterpiece.

And I'll continue to weave our beautiful tapestry,
Bright and happy, as it seperates us from reality.
Till one day cruel time rips it apart to barge in.
To take you away as I:
Bawl, fight, scream, protest.

Till I can't screech another breathe and move another muscle.
Because you promised you would never leave,
And so I built castles in the air:
In naivety and denial.
